With a name like Mom's family diner, there are certain expectations that a place needs to meet. This place exceeds those expectations! The staff, atmosphere and food all give you that nostalgic feel. The staff treats you like family and the food definitely tastes homemade, fresh out of your mothers kitchen! They have Thanksgiving Thursday with a full on turkey dinner and it was so good! This will become a regular stop for me.
Finally made it in for breakfast I'm not a regular breakfast eater and I'm glad I did! The place was clean, a little busy, but oh my word, what great staff! I was greeted and seated right away. A server took my order pretty quickly, and my meal was in front of me in a very short amount of time! I ordered a basic two eggs over medium, bacon, hash browns, and a biscuit with gravy. The eggs were perfectly prepared, runny yolk, firm white, the hash browns had a nice crispness, the bacon was cooked just right - not burnt to a crisp, but also not rubbery, and the biscuit was light and fluffy, the sausage gravy in a separate bowl so I could use as little or as much of it as I wanted. While sitting there enjoying my meal, I noticed several couples came and went who are obviously "regulars"; they were greeted with warm hugs from the servers, and a flurry of quick conversations "catching up" took place. The rest of the customers were never neglected, btw. The pie case was full of delicious-looking slices of pie - I will have to go back just to try some! The total bill for my meal before tip came to $11.92 - all in all a reasonable price for a decent meal.
Great little diner with all your typical expectations of a diner. Always clean, food always seems fresh and hot, and service has always been top-notch. Don't be scared off by what appears to be a crowded parking lot. There is more parking in the back, and the busyness shows how good they are. Parking: They hold more business than the lot would appear, but there is more in the back and the street is available.
Great food! I had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and corn with a roll, and as you can see by the picture, it was too good to photo. LOL! The parking lot was packed for a good reason. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED! Home cooking, comfort food at its best.Food: 5/5
This was my first time visiting this diner, as I'm not from this area, but I must say, it was a good choice for last night's dinner. The staff was friendly, I was greeted with a smile and it wasn't busy busy, so I didn't have to wait too long for my meal. The waitress was very nice and gave me time to look over the menu, took my drink request and checked on me several times after the food came to make sure I was good. Very professional and courteous. As for the food, I went with the chicken fried steak, double mashed and dinner roll. Portion size was more than fair and the taste was just how it should be. With tip, I think I paid $20.00, so not bad. Next time I come, I think I'll try the breakfast side and see what that's like. Give this place a try if you're in the area and see how you like it. Positive experience, so I'm giving them 4 stars!
It was very good. I went to lunch with a friend. I got the Hamburger steak, green beans and mashed potatoes. He got the Chicken fried steak, same side's. We also got large hot bread rolls and butter. It was two thumbs up. I will definitely go back for lunch. The waitress did an excellent job. She was on the ball. Give it a try. Kid-friendliness: Children would not have a problem eating here. Pleasant atmosphere. Parking: Parking in the front and back of the restaurant. The lot was clean and had ample parking, and along one side of the building. Wheelchair accessibility: No problem getting into the restaurant. There was a young lady in a wheelchair eating, when we arrived.
The BEST hash browns in town! They’re never greasy, mushy, or burnt. Always perfect. I could go on about everything breakfast this restaurant is just hands down the best in food, service, and cleanliness. It’s our go to Sunday breakfast & I hope it’s here for generations.
I hope Mom is still around, she'd be proud. I can truthfully say this was the best breakfast I've ever eaten. I had a simple cheese omelet and biscuits with cream gravy. The omelet was loaded with cheese and very buttery. The biscuit was light and melt in your mouth fluffy. The cream gravy was CREAM gravy. And the portions were as large as I've seen in a long time. And all this at a price that was more than fair. Mom would definitely be proud!
Great food at great prices! Not all Mom’s Diners are the same! Check out my breakfast meal I had for lunch. Makes me hungry just looking at it. The staff here is attentive and super friendly.
Delicious! Portions were larger than expected. I ordered fried catfish ,okra & mixed fruit. The fish was a huge filet , crispy & hot. Okra & hush puppies were also fried to perfection. The side salad was fresh. The mixed fruit side consisted of strawberries, grapes , pineapple and cantaloupe. Seasonably fresh & sweet! Wonderful customer service too! Recommended to us as we were getting car work done at Nelson Nissan . Worth the walk .. possibly .3 mile walk.
