I am here with my mother in the Telemetry Rooms. Charge nurse is Brenda and the room nurse is Natalie. Edited portion: The night nurse on duty Patricia of Tuesday march 14 2023 7pm to 7am is another perfect example of rude behavior towards my mother. Can’t wait to meet her!! The assisting nurse is Sonia who has been very nice and attentive to my mothers needs. The nursing staff I think are on a 12 hour shift then possibly a 3 or 4 day work week. And then I’m sure there’s mandatory overtime because at times I think they are understaffed. So that being said I can understand why nurses may forget or simply just don’t have time to attend to every patient’s requests. However I feel that communication is the key. Honest communication and not empty promises. And then that being said. My mother’s RN is Natalie today, the second day I’ve seen her work with my mom. One notable quality I’ve seen is that Natalie is unable to smile. Not once has this girl shown any type of cheerfulness in her job. Even her voice is very monotone. But that just may be the place she’s in her life’s struggle. I say struggle because she doesn’t seem very happy while doing her job. But that is no reason for letting her patients suffer for her inequities. But again I don’t know her. I am only going by example through her services to my mother. Perhaps others are receiving excellent nursing care from her. And that being said I noticed other nurses who show the same type of attitude. As if the patients are bothering them or impeding on their day making it difficult for them to do their job. This type of job I feel requires a sense of humanity and a humbleness that will allow them to have feelings for the patients who are suffering in pain or discomfort. My mother did not want to be here. She did not make reservations and book a room for vacation at the Emmanuel Medical Center. This is where the ambulance brought her during a heart attack. We are grateful to the paramedics for saving her life. The next step is to get her back home. The hospital is working on this but it takes time. Meanwhile I can only be here at my mothers side to ensure her comfort while she’s here. So that being said if you have a family or loved one that has to be at this hospital be vigilant and watch and ask about everything be done. Medications and treatments all have to be scrutinized with the staff so that the correct care is given to the correct patient.
I honestly don’t have anything bad to say. I went in with horrible gastritis pain and they ended up diagnosing me with gallstones and I had to get my gallbladder taken out. All the staff was extremely caring and supportive. They made me feel comfortable and safe. I really appreciate that.
Emanuel Medical Center, Labor and delivery nurses and doctors are awesome, doctors were professional. The nurses were so caring and nice. I really recommend it to you all. Thank you so much Nurses and doctors, Labor and delivery, Emanuel Medical Center.
Nurse Jacob on ICU 4/3/23-4/4/24 was really awesome, took care of my brother. Gave complete medical up-to-date updates in regards to my brother. I live in a different town, hours away, so his Jacob’s update, was very helpful, very friendly when questions were asked!! Explained detail by detail, what the nursing assessment was. As my brother was admitted to ICU, Nurse Jacob, explained treatment, procedures and imaging.. he also mentioned so far reaction of my brother, and what results were awaiting. Luckily his blood sugar levels decreased from 500+ to 230. He was very clear on the care plan. Which gives me, as a family member, a clear understating!! Thank You!! -Estela Perez
Just arrived was admitted I had extensive history which they knew. I got treatment right away all test were ordered and finishing up.
I was not properly taken care of with the best of their ability. I let the triage nurse know exactly what I was there for and she assumed what she wanted to diagnose me with. I told her I had a DVT and a blood condition. Did not want to write down anything did not take me serious and the sad thing is I went there for a second opinion about my DVT because both my legs were feeling funny and so was my back. But no professional help until I got a sarcastic attitude is when I was taken serious! I was diagnosed with something I did not have and I know because they ran only a blood test and a urine test. They did no ultrasound. So when I told the doctor why I was there he still did not take me serious until I told him I just want to go home is when he started asking questions. I just answered with the same answer ‘ I want to go home.’ Unprofessional and I just cried in the parking lot because I got absolutely no help here!
Dr bowker and dr Chen from the ER are the worst. We been here 2 hours waiting and still nothing being done. My dad randomly passed out and busted his head open after he hit the cement and they haven’t done a ct scan or even paid meds for gods sake. This is crazy. 2 hours and still haven’t spoken to either of these doctors who are on shift.
Amazing care I do not know why there are bad reviews. Some people who are being seen are rude to the staff and i feel bad for them. Because they are nurses trying there best to help out the patients. Society can be cruel.
Nurses and staff were very kind and professional. Don't want to go into detail, how bad everything was in regards to initially being denied treatment, and having to verbally spar with Dr. to get the tests done..
DON’T EVER GO HERE! Worst medical facility I’ve ever gone to! I checked in 1 day ago for a swollen throat internal and external, dizziness, headache and waited over 3 hours and was not even touched! People walking around looking okay were being admitted before me. Most nurses were sitting around talking with their peers or simply sitting on a computer not doing anything! There was only one older nurse taking people in. I had to walk out of hospital and find a different hospital! I am not from the area so this was the closest hospital to me and I’ll never ever go back! The worst experience of my life!!
