The Embassy of Nicaragua in Washington, D.C. is the Republic of Nicaragua's diplomatic mission to the United States. It's located at 1627 New Hampshire Avenue, Northwest, Washington, D.C., in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. The embassy also operates Consulates-General in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, New Orleans, Miami, and New York City.The Ambassador is Francisco Obadiah Campbell Hooker.BuildingDr. Louis C. Lehr (brother of Henry Symes Lehr) and his wife, Marie, were the original occupants of the building. It was designed and built by Clarke Waggaman in 1913–1914. Notable occupants of the building have included Norman H. Davis (while serving as Undersecretary of State), Raymond T. Baker (while serving as Director of the U.S. Mint), Joseph H. Himes (while serving in Congress), Roy D. Chapin (while serving as Secretary of Commerce), and Guillermo Sevilla-Sacasa (while serving as Nicaraguan ambassador).

This place is terrible. We flew from Atlanta only to learn that they taped a sign to the door to say they stopped being open on Friday. No mention of this online. Also we learned that you can only go to one certain embassy based on which state you live in, but you can only learn which is the right one by showing up in person at the wrong one.
I am a Nicaraguan citizen. I love my Country although this is the most unprofessional place I have encountered. I have called too many times on different days and they never pick up the phone there is always a machine and it does not take messages. I need some information about the progress of my passport application and nobody responds. I have been calling for months. What kind of Service to the Public is this? What do they get paid for?
I’ve been calling this number for an hour and no one has picked up. A total of 27 phone calls made. This is unacceptable. I understand being busy, but this is ridiculous. No alternative number or email or any kind of contact info. I’m calling because I need to know some information and I’m not about to travel all the way there to just go to a place that’s closed or on lunch or something dumb. That’s what I phone number is for. To call ahead of time to be sure to go there. I’m keeping it 100% for anyone reading this post. Trust me. I’m not playing. I love Nicaragua, but the service from here is not cutting it. Sorry not sorry.

This place is a joke, they never picked up the Phone, I've been trying to get in touch for almost a month, staff haven't even reply my emails, its been a waste of my time, I Believe my better shot is to call my relatives in Nicaragua and try to get the documents I need from them if possible. Overall I'll give this place a 0 terrible Customer service.
This place sucks. They never answer the phone so we drove 6 hours. Terrible customer service. The old guy in the front desk was disrespectful and making my mother and i feel like idiots. This is a government establishment but they fail to act like one. Very rude and very disrespectful.
The utmost worst consulate to deal with, no one answers the phone called multiple times to schedule paperwork for a person that has passed away and need to send back to nicaragua from the chicago area, i have sent emails with no response, this consulate is a joke!!!! the family will have to receive the body in bad shape and the so-called consulate is to blame
I have been calling this office for many years and no one has answered the phone. I have emailed. The emails either come back to me or are blocked. It really seems like a bad joke you should wake up from. I need a simple stamp on the birth certificates of my children to finalize my Nicaraguan divorce. I went to Miami and they said they could not do it since my children are born close to the D.C. Office. Now I will have to get the Senators involved because this is not acceptable. It is an embarrassment. Their way of conducting a government office affects the real lives of real people in significant ways. This is not acceptable.
I broth a friend to get her passport and the secretary was very rude she didn’t want to answer any question my friend is been calling but no answer the phone she needs her passport
It took way to loooong for them to attend me and the place is not spacious at all they dont even answer calls and they leave you ringing the door for more than 2 hours wich is absurd!
