The Embassy of Slovenia in Washington, D.C. is the Republic of Slovenia's diplomatic mission to the United States. The embassy in Washington is also responsible for representing Slovenia in Mexico. The chancery is located just off Embassy Row at 2410 California Street NW in the Kalorama neighborhood. Consular assistance is also provided by Slovenia's network of consulates in the U.S. and Mexico.Slovenia's current ambassador to the United States is Božo Cerar. Ambassador Cerar presented his letter of credence to U.S. President Barack Obama on September 17, 2013. He also serves as ambassador to Mexico and as a permanent representative to the Organization of American States and the Caribbean Community.Slovenia–U.S. relationsThe United States formally recognized Slovenia on April 7, 1992. Since Slovenia's independence, the United States and Slovenia have developed strong, cooperative relations and partnership on a broad range of issues, from promoting regional security to developing closer bilateral trade and investment ties.
