Dog Training, Boarding, and Nutrition
Scott Miller is the owner and founder of Emerald Coast K-9, his experience comes from a combined 26 years of military and police service. He was a United States Marine Corps and ANGLICO team member, and he worked with the Navy SEAL team, British Royal Marines,French Foreign Legion,Army Special Forces, and Rangers. After his service he was hired on at the Metro Atlanta, Gwinnett County Sheriffs Department where he created the standard operating procedure manual,implemented and started the K-9 Unit with two donation dogs and was trainer. First class Maryland State Police Tracking , then to Atlantic City for urban tracking, and finally an eight month stay at Broward County Sheriffs Office for a full K-9 school. After four very successful years at the Sheriffs department Scott was recruited over to the Lawrenceville Police Department to start up a new K-9 unit and get two more units certified and on the road , testing was done through the United Sates Canine Association and Scott again titled two dogs in tracking and patrol work and one in drug certification. He was hired through his private company Georgia K-9 Academy, on his off time to train two more dogs for the DeKalb Police Department and get them ready as patrol and drug dogs certification and to act as trainer with this department.His last stop in law enforcement was for the Doraville Police Department where he again started a two dog k-9 unit and was trainer, a member of the SWAT team and had much success with criminal apprehensions and drug and money seizures. Under the private Georgia K-9 Academy company Scott, trained hundreds of dog’s and puppies at two different Pet Smart locations in Atlanta. He has attended many seminars from some of the worlds most recognized trainers here and abroad, and has worked as a decoy for KNPV club.
Scott is always looking to learn new and smart methods of training, and looks forward to one day soon starting a local club for Schutzhund Dog training here on the Emerald Coast. He is married to Rebecca Browning Miller, and currently has three German Shepherds, but has worked and owner Belgian Malinois , Rottweiler’s, Labradors, and most all breeds in the past.
