I've wanted to eat at Emma's Cafe since we first came to Twin Falls. Soooooo good. Learned a ton about the countries formerly a part of Yugoslavia & the food: Bosnian coffee, Sarajevski Ćevapi Bosnian flatbread, seasoned beef & veal sausages, ajvar relish, goulash, flatbread stuffed w/sour cream & Bulgarian feta cheese & floral, lemony Hurmašica pastry. Yes, please. They've been here for eight years. Hidden gem.
Good food. Homemade food. Very good customer service. Food was fresh and well served. The small stores serve always the most delicious food. Give Europe a try and enjoy some amazing food! They also have a store of goodies you can check out European candy etc….
My wife and I met in NYC. One of our great passions was trying all the foods from around the world. My wife Jessi found this restaurant here in Twin and we both said yes! We had such a great time. The food was amazing. The staff was really nice and you could tell they were coming from the heart. They also have a great little market on the side. The whole experience makes you feel like you have left Idaho for a moment and you get to soak up some of Bosnia.
I’ve never had Bosnian food before. We happened to stumble upon this small, family run diner and shop. At first, we had little hope that the reviews were accurate. It seemed small, with limited staff, and the menus weren’t the most digitally-marketing inspired… But, we were blown away with the food. We chose the sampler to share between 4 people. It gives a great variety of sausages and toppings, including the best mustard I’ve ever had and I don’t really like mustard. The lemonade was clearly fresh and hand made with a great variety of flavors. The bread was perfectly cooked, slightly crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. But the seasoning on everything was beyond on-point. The Serbian coffee think Turkish coffee but better was the perfect dessert to end with. The small shop had some of the best imported sweets and coffee I’ve ever seen including Milka Oreo White Chocolate bars - straight from the Alpine mountains. But more than all this, the owners, an incredible couple from Bosnia, are some of the hardest working and kindest people I’ve met. The pride they take in their food and drinks is an art the you don’t find today, and brought back strong resonance of an Anthony Bourdain kind of experience. Please support this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
Curious about Bosnian food, we travelled from Sun Valley to Twin Falls city for lunch at Emma’s Cafe which has high ratings. It didn’t disappoint. The food was freshly prepared as you order including the bread. It was absolutely delicious and worth the 10 minutes wait while the chef prepares the food. When I told the chef/owner his food is “dangerous”, he was puzzled until I told him that it is so good that I couldn’t stop eating it! It is well worth the 80 miles drive! There is also a small corner at the cafe selling grocery and food from Bosnia, Macedonia and Europe. Prices are very reasonable for the portion and quality of food served. The chef is warm and friendly making the visit a truly wonderful experience. Highly recommended.
I recently stayed in Twin Falls for a road trip through the Southwest from the Northwest. Found this restaurant and decided before the trip that I would eat there. I wasn't all that hungry, so I decided to get a half order of a sausage dish. I figured I'd get an order of baklava if my appetite picked up. Well... after the first bite, it picked up. I ditched the idea of dessert and ordered the cabbage rolls. Everything was delicious. I even had a homemade? carbonated drink that was unlike anything I've ever tried. Awesome! With one and a half meals, I ended up with too much bread. Perfect for the road with a hot coffee. Twin Falls is beautiful and Emma's Cafe is a gem. I'll add that the food was served hot, the waitress was fantastic and I'll likely plan another road trip just to eat there again.
This was my first but I’m sure not my last visit to Emma’s. I had never eaten Bosnian food before but it was really good. I had cabbage rolls covered in a paprika/sour cream sauce I can’t remember the exact name on the menu. It was on the starters side. The waitress was very nice and I would recommend anyone who wants to try a different country’s cuisine to try this . It’s tucked away behind The Smoke Shop on a blue Lakes .
I tried several different items. I had the Flat Bread, Cevapi Sarajevski, Sarma and their special of the day. The Flat Bread was as amazing as I had heard . The Cevapi Sarajevski had a large portion of well seasoned beef in a large flat bread. The Special of the day was my favorite. It was strips of beef and veal kabobs and had great flavor. Each of these dishes came with a side of sour cream, dice onions lightly seasoned and Alvar. The last dish was Sarma. These are stuffed cabbage. I've had good stuffed cabbage but this was by far the best I've had. The cabbage was actually pickled cabbage. The pickled flavor was present but not the dominant flavor. The sauce was so good. The service was excellent. He took time to explain the different foods. They also have a small store with a nice selection of items from Eastern European countries. I will definitely eat here on my next trip to Twin Falls.
Very tasty flat bread and very tasty meal. We ordered a mixed meal for 4, which gave a sample of many meats and sausages from Bosnia. The market attached is a hidden treasure of European foods and treats that are delightful to purchase and take home.Food: 5/5
My wife and I were in Twin Falls celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary and decided to stop in for lunch. It was an absolutely wonderful experience and our first time trying Bosnian cuisine. The coffee was an awesome experience. We will most definitely be back!!
