EGW pays Haitians to pick up Sea Glass which is then brought back to the United States and made into jewelry. As the business grows more people will be hired. The whole concept benefits the ocean, the people and you.
In April of 2011, while on a mission trip to Haiti, the concept for this business began to come together. While sitting on the beach recovering from the days work in the mountains of Chadirac, a friend and I saw it for the first time. Sea Glass. I started to pick it up and planned on having a momento piece made for both of us.
After returning home and playing back all that I saw, felt and heard, I felt God put it on my heart to help the less fortunate in a unique way. Pay the Haitians to pick up the Sea Glass, bring it back to the states, make it into jewelry and sell it. The cycle of blessing others would continue as long as the jewelry sold.
It took twenty months to finally come together and on all accounts it was God putting the right people in the right places at the right time.
Today Emmaus Glass Works employs 3 full-timers and 1 part-timer.
