Emmerich Manual High School

Description

Emmerich Manual High School is a public high school in Indianapolis, USA. It was a traditional high school in the Indianapolis Public Schools district. Now the school is run by the state of Indiana.HistoryEstablishment and HistoryTo provide training in such fields as mechanics, drafting, and the domestic arts, a resolution was adopted which petitioned the Indiana General Assembly to permit the school board to levy a tax for the construction of a new industrial school in Indianapolis. On June 14, 1888, the board went on record as favoring the proposed step in manual training education and voted to establish two such classes in the Indianapolis High School. Forty students enrolled in these first classes, and enthusiasm for the undertaking grew. A bill to enable the Board of School Commissioners to levy a tax for the construction of an industrial school in Indianapolis (House Bill 811) was introduced in the Indiana House of Representatives on February 19, 1891. With the support of the Marion County legislators the bill passed the House easily: however, it did not reach the Senate floor until the closing days of the General Assembly, On the next to last day of the legislature, Senator Thompson of Marion County was persuaded to sponsor the bill. Because his name would not be reached in sufficient time to present the bill, Senator Fuik of Monroe and Brown counties at the last minute presented the bill to the Senate. This bill, permitting the collection of five cents on every hundred dollars of taxable property in Indianapolis for the establishment of an industrial training school, was passed with one dissenting vote, on March 7, 1891.

My brother uncles and mom went to school here. Its a great school im guessing
It's a awful school. The kids are terrible and so is the teaching. The classes don't cover the right things. Their only keeping it one because it's a original school here in Indianapolis, but that's the only thing it's got going for it
My daughter is in the 10th Grade here. They have helped her out so much that she is an honor roll student now. Keep up the good work. My son is going there next year. He will be in The 9th grade. I hope he likes it. My daughter loves it there and the school is only 5 minutes driving time away from where we live but 10 minutes if walking. So that's nice.
this is the most retarded school I ever went to, i can't graduate with an Academic Honors diploma because they didn't put me in the correct foreign language my sophomore year, i have been in honors classes ever since my freshman year and i decided to move to Tech when they got taken over by the state and i feel i get a better education at Tech and wish i would have went to Tech and they would have put me in the right classes
Awful school, my cousin says it is not a good school and most of the teachers do not care about the students education.
Should've gone here for Freshman year but I had to go to Broad Ripple
My sister obtained a GED here after being booted from Catholic school for 'smoking' in the boys room!.
My grandson Eiyjha Green "eli" was jumped in the bathroom and got hurt! Now he's suspended for 10 days!!! No one called me regarding this and I got a recording today at 3:35 saying he was not in school all day yet he was kept in the office all day and spoke to Mrs ford whom told him he was suspended cause of the fight. Nobody called me to discuss what happened and if his thumb is broke themnthem there will be consequences and not just for my grand son ! I SHOULD OF BEEN CALLED ASAP! Would of he really got hurt??? Would you call me? I'm starting,no I think this need reported to the school board.
I loved my teachers and my friends
