In 1987, Kathy Thomas opened En Pointe School of Dance with the goal of offering a unique approach to quality dance training. While other schools seemed to focus on the body only, Kathy felt strongly that it was important to train the whole child...mind, body, and soul.
En Pointe has come to enjoy the reputation of turning out well trained, well rounded, happy dancers. Many having gone on to dance with regional and professional dance companies, been awarded the Governor's Honor Award, received scholarships for summer study at prestigious schools in the United States, and started dance ministries within their own churches.
En Pointe also houses the Christian dance company, Praise in Motion. Praise in Motion is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian Dance Ministry dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through music and dance. We offer classes from 3 years old to adult in creative movement, ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, praise dance, and pilates.
