E.N.C.O.R.E. (Educating and Nurturing with Options, Resources and Education) is a program for parents who wish to teach their children at home.
Attention all parents and community members concerned about
Exceptional Educational Experiences within our school system.
The Antioch School District offers several alternative education options.
One program is under attack by the School Board!
The ENCORE Home Schooling Program
Encourages and Nurtures Children through Options, Resources and Enthusiasm!
Four teachers run this extraordinary program.
The School District has proposed cutting one of these teachers.
Such an action would ruin the unique care and attention the students receive.
The loss of even one Advisory Teacher would extensively increase the
teacher/student ratio. The science workshops, book clubs, art classes, and
countless other educational enhancements would be reduced or removed.
The students would no longer receive special personal attention.
AUSD students deserve quality educational options!
The ENCORE program offers an uncommon and uniquely outstanding
educational experience! Please help protect this option.
Write the AUSD School Board!
Encourage them to dismiss the proposed teacher cut to ENCORE.
Attend the March 13 School Board Meeting!
Voice your opinion and stand in support of
Exceptional Educational Experiences!
This program operates through the Prospects Independent Study Program and serves students in grades K-8.
E.N.C.O.R.E differs from the 9-12th grade independent study program in that the parents take an active role in teaching their child with the advisement of a credentialed teacher in the Antioch Unified School District.
The advising teacher will meet with families every two weeks and on alternative weeks will gather materials, develop curriculum, and offer opportunities for classes and workshops. The E.N.C.O.R.E teacher will have the role as advisor to the parent, but both will work as partners to educate the student.
An alternative education program.
