Hi my Name is DeaLove' I began transitioning from relaxed to natural hair in March of 2009 after years of a seemingly never-ending cycle of relaxer touch ups. This is one of the best decisions I have ever made in regards to the health and length retention of my hair.
You Have to have Patience
Understand that you will not have a full head of natural hair overnight. Hair grows at the rate of about half an inch per month so be patient and give your hair time to grow into the length you want to achieve.
If you choose to transition, having two different textures of hair can be overwhelming so be prepared to take your time when detangling and styling your hair. Some women get frustrated or impatient at this stage and decide to cut their hair. Make sure this is a choice you really want to make. If not, you could fall prey to wanting a relaxer again or self-esteem issues if you decide you do not like your hair at this length.
