I haven’t had the greatest interactions with LE in the past, but this department has some truly great cops. Officer Torres, thank you so much for taking the time to follow up, over the phone from across the country. Your help was absolutely critical. Officer Gerson, the way you handled that situation was exactly how police work should be done. You guys were absolute professionals and have restored a huge amount of my faith in the system. Please know that you made an enormous, positive impact on our family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Had my truck stolen 3 weeks ago, whole thing on video, license plates on camera, and never even being contacted by a “detective”. Too busy harassing homeless people to worry about the real criminals. Hard to feel like they care, I understand a lot of vehicles are stolen in colorado, and mine can’t be number 1 priority. But someone could have showed up to talk to me or atleast pick up the phone and give me a courtesy call.
I am thoroughly disgusted with the Englewood police department!! I was involved in a car accident with my mother and I got T-boned by a truck. I had to be sawed out of the car by the fire department. I believe there was one cop who helped cover me with a blanket to avoid glass shattering on me. My mom couldn't even get out of her door, but eventually she was able to. There were 5 cops just standing around while i was in the ambulance and i kept worrying about my mom. Once i got to the ER she told me not one freaking cop assisted her or gave her a ride to the hospital. They told her to walk!! She walked with 3 bags of luggage for blocks and got lost. It truly makes me sick that they offered no help especially since she was in the car accident as well. They should be ashamed of themselves!! They are not here to protect and serve people as they claim. Not every cop in this department is bad I'm sure. However, they deserve a one star review even if that.
Thank you for your compassion and professionalism on a case involving my son. He discovered his partner deceased at his home and was in shock. Your 911 dispatcher calmed him down and helped him try to revive him. Unfortunately, he was gone. Your detective was kind and so was the victim advocate who provided him with material regarding trauma and grief. I"m just so impressed. Thank you very much.
You just called me to tell me that the post I found was a fake THANK THE GOOD LORD! a child is not in danger...thank you. Thank you for always being there for me and my family. Thank you for your kindness and courtesy. I am very proud of our Englewood Police. I have never had a bad experience. I've met many police from many departments and I truly feel you are the best. Thank you for putting my heart back in my chest. Alice Lucius
Banged on my window that is right next to my door, the other night without announcing themselves, seemed annoyed I didn't respond because what sane person would, shone their flashlight through my window finally announcing themselves still not knocking on the door like a normal person, all to tell me they think my TV was too loud. I've lived in the same place for over 2 years and no one has ever complained. And my TV is right by the window. They need to find something better to do and stop fishing for probable cause to harass law abiding citizens whose taxes pay their salaries.
Original person who answered the phone was not friendly but once I got to the records department that young lady was very helpful. I had my purse stolen and because of Labor Day weekend the report had not yet been processed but she said she would write the case number down and make sure that it was processed ahead of schedule. Very helpful!
My husband and I visited Centennial Park today with our cocker spaniel. Centennial Park is nice because it is an off leash dog park, with rules that dogs must be under verbal control and nearby at all times. We have visited a few times before today. At our visit today we encountered a loose dog boxer/pitbull mix maybe, hard to exactly say the breed that was not connected to a person and was running loose is the park for at least 30 minutes while we were there. I felt slightly threatened since it seemed skiddish and it was not neutered, which might provoke dominance and dog fights. I called the local police department to request assistance. The operator at the end of the line today 11/26/16 at 2pm was incredibly rude and not helpful. She told me there were no animal control personnel working since it is a holiday weekend and since the dog was not a threat it was not a concern or problem of Englewood Police. I have concerns for the safety of the loose dog as well as the safety of other visitors to the park, canine and human. I am shocked that she would not connect me with anyone that could be of help since I had huge concerns. She told me to call back if I felt threatened and hung up. Two lessons here: 1. Definitely don't visit Centennial Park as an off dog leash... You really can't be sure what or who you will run into. 2. Don't count on assistance from the City of Englewood Police Department phone operators... They certainly give the police department a bad reputation. I can't say much about the police themselves since none were sent towards the park today. Hopefully this dog doesn't cause harm on anyone! I'll certainly be staying away from Englewood Parks going forward since the Police Department doesn't help to protect it's visitors.
I would appreciate an in depth independent or CBI audit of this police department annually! They violate: civil rights, constitutional rights, search and seizure laws; not to mention introducing hearsay as evidence, misappropriating monetary spending, inappropriate unprofessional behavior from the city attorney and judge, sending 6 uniformed officers in squad cars to deliver a zoning citation to one harmless little old lady, and utilizing defamation of character to control rehabilitating members of the community instead of supporting their effort to rehabilitate.
Gratitude for EPD.. Prompt and courteous! I appreciated the times I’ve had to call the EPD. And each time I’ve had positive and supportive experiences.
