Description

Englishman River Falls Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada. It is located west of Parksville and borders the town of Errington on Vancouver Island. Short hiking trails and bridges access both upper and lower falls. The campground has 103 sites and about half can be reserved. A First Nations legend mentions the skeleton of a white man found near the falls, hence its name.

A great place for someone who loves nature! Kid-friendly with lots of places to walk for discovery. Go around, and you can get access to water. The water is so clean because of the fast current. Plan your trip in advance; you need a few hours to enjoy! Restrooms: Restrooms available at the entrance to the park
Nice and easy access from the parking lot to the bridge where you can get a fantastic view of the upper falls, down to the narrow canyon! Then another 10 mins to the mouth of the falls! You can tread accross from the water, in summer when it's low, but it's still freezing cold & the rocks are quite slippery! There's picnic bench and space if you want to hang out near the river!
Went camping for two nights and loved the place. Trails nearby are really beautiful. Just a heads up ; there are no showers and toilets are pit toilets !! Really rustic, we weren’t aware and weren’t really prepared.
Beautiful park, kids friendly path and easy for kids as young as 2 years old. Most of it is accessible with a stroller with the exception of a few spots where you might need some help. I would highly recommend the park. Bring water shoes if you want to head down to the water / river due to tones of stones, not comfortable to walk without water shoes, but whatever you do if you have young kids and have to chase them, don’t visit the water area without foot covering. Lastly if you go swimming, the water is so clear and beautiful and fresh, approx temp 10 degrees C! So it’s truly refreshing:- Dog-friendliness: In short yes, but keep them leashes out of respect for other guests! Picnic area: They have a very nice place to sit and eat with tons of shade and we’ll built picnic tables.
Beautiful spot to take a low-impact hike. Both upper and lower falls are a sight to behold. Lower falls offer a place to unwind at the river bed and go for a swim. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful waterfalls and easy walking trails. Very busy with kids and dogs compared to other waterfall places on the island. It's a camp ground as well,so if you're looking for a quiet hike in nature this isn't ideal.
Fantastic forest hikes with gorgeous waterfalls and pools you can get to for swimming and wading. Good hike, up hills and downhills, extremely worth it! Easy access picnic areas with great views too.
Stayed in Nanaimo for 2days and our last stop was the English river falls. Children were jumping into the water and diving at the lower falls. Trail along the upper and lower falls east amazing.

Beautiful walk. The falls were not very big when we were there because of the drought but still beautiful. Campsite is alright. Very, very dusty and dirty. Had to clean everything when we returned home. Doesn't help that people drive around the campsite like it's a city street. We will not be going back to the campsite but will return to the falls and mountain bike trails.
