The halibut fish and chips were very good. The batter was cooked perfectly and stayed on the fish while being eaten. The fries were crisp and done very well. The coleslaw was exactly how I like it, and I even got some to go because it was so good! We also got two deep-fried oysters that were very good, even though it was not a month with an "r". It is very worth the sheer l short and pleasant drive from Astoria. I highly recommend this place! Parking: There is plenty of parking all around the location.
Today I had a half order of halibut fish and chips and cup of clam chowder. It was $30 and the best fish I’ve ever had. It was very fresh and could not have been cooled more perfectly. I can still her the crunch sound. The fries were very good, but could have used more salt. The chowder was extremely good for west coast. Cole slaw and tartar sauce were on well above average as well. Service was fantastic, and food was served very fast. I never spend this much on a meal, but it was absolutely worth it.
Food is amazing! Halibut and Cod are perfectly breaded and served with French fries that are extra crisp on the outside and soft on the inside! So awesome. Seating is in and outside a covered area sporting outdoor garden ware for sale. Cool atmosphere that is welcoming and comfortable. Kid-friendliness: Families are welcome Parking: Wheelchair accessible available Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room.
My wife and I shared an oyster basket with an added piece of halibut and a cup of clam chowder. The fries were nicely seasoned the oysters were large and perfectly deep fried the halibut was excellent and the clam chowder was the best I ever had. If you want great deep fried seafood and the best clam chowder ever you must try these guys out. There was a nice covered area to wait with lots of cool beachy items for sale as well as a few board games available to play while you wait. Back again 1 month later had the halibut and chips it was so good. We will be back this is our new favorite fish and chips.
Some have commented on high prices here...I say, you get what you pay for. Ordered the combo plate and was $26...portions were good, fish and shellfish were fresh, firm, tasty and breading was crispy, not greasy. Fries were good and crispy...I gave a 4 star for the service because it was order and pay at the window and you waited for them to call your name. Very fast service. Seating was in a type of warehouse or outside at picnic tables. There are beautiful hand-crafted items for sale on display here. The real star here is the clam chowder! Thick, rich and creamy, small, but reasonable amount of potatoes and clams in every bite with the perfect clam flavor.....not a reservations type restaurant, good for groups and families. I'd come here again for sure.
We Loved the fish and chips! We were told to eat at another place but we found out it was closed on Tuesdays ! But we are so happy we got to eat here at Ship out fish and chips! Service was great we didn’t have a long wait! Super good food !! We got a senior discount too !! Keep up the terrific job Parking: Lots of parking spaces!
Best fish & chips I ate in Oregon. Fish was super hot, crispy & delicious. Fries were really good too. We couldn't stop until we finished our plate. Google reviews helped us select this place & we all 3 are happy to actually make it since they are open for limited time. It's basically a store selling items made from glass & many more indoor tables inside the store with a food truck attached to it. But it's really cute, bright & beautiful store.
AMAZING Fish-n-Chips!!! I went by my fellow Google Reviewers on this place. Spot on!!! Halibut was tender and delicious, NOT OILY!! Fries crispy and HOT!!! Slaw was also VERY good!!! HUGE PORTIONS…Beware!!! We’re 2 guys and shared the 4 piece dinner, perfect amount for two @$28!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
For winter months this is pretty harsh with no heat and a roof that leaks but not bad for a small kitchen and staff. Had to move tables three times because of the rain dripping through the roof. The food is better than average though not great for what we had. I had the 10 pieces of prawns. They were better than average.. The coleslaw is good. Not great. Coleslaw portion was tiny, probably three spoonfuls. The fries are just OK. not great. The drinks were high priced$$. Soft drinks only. $4.00 for a can of Coke ouch. Restroom facility is an upscale porta potty. My friend had the oysters. They were good. Not great. And one of his oysters turned out to be a scallop. Really wanted this place to be better but still if you're in the area and hungry it's the spot for sure.
This place gets outstanding reviews. I get it. For people that aren't from here yeah its good food at a good price and the experience that they're looking for. I've tried going here time and time again because of the convenience, I live so close. Everything it's been worse. Today I couldn't call in an order because they left the phone off the hook. I walked there to place my order, they weren't even busy. I waited way to long, they're prices increased and didn't reflect on any menus. I got one small chicken strip and a little bit of fries for 8 dollars. The cup of clam chowder was good, but not worth 9 dollars. I just feel that places like this are overrated for the price and service/portions you're given. Maybe I'm biased because of I've lived here my whole life and I understand that it's worth it to just drive elsewhere. Either way I just feel that we deserve better on the coast
