This location is pretty nice with individual primp stations in the women's locker room and decently friendly staff. They should allow reviews for Equinox overall though, but for anyone debating joining, the gym brand is good for influencers and those who want to be seen, wealthy elitists, and type A personalities. While I'm none of those things, I like safety, quality, convenience, and cleanliness so this is a start until I find more affordable and accessible options that hit the mark.
Expensive but so good for me! Like this gym a lot. Showers clean most of the time. Steam room great. A lot of deferent classes, I wish there is something more boxing options. Equipment always there, no like the others gym that you have to look for parts because someone misplace it. Personal training very expensive but fun & they teach you a lot. I can recommend.
This location is nice; however, it seems to house the standard machines in the weight section. It’s nothing special, but some notable machines you don’t see at other gyms is the chest-supported T-bar row and lying hamstring curl. Other than that, the gym is standard. I went at 5 pm, and it was busy but not enough to ruin your experience.
Really expensive gym that pretends to be exclusive but does not offer anything special other than eucalyptus scented towels. Staff is very rude. They make you wait and don't acknowledge even when they're not busy. They take down all your info and a photo of your ID just to view the gym. They are closed on weekends and do not offer trials or a day pass. Don't waste your time here. This gym is targeting middle aged white men who work nearby and like throwing away money. Crunch and blink offer a better value.
The equinox at Bryant park is probably my favorite out of all the basic tier locations that I've been to so far. It's in a super accessible location which is a huge bonus. It's really spacious compared to all the gyms I've been to in the city. The machines and weights are definitely a little on the older side compared to lifetime's but this gym has pretty much everything that you'd need. It was surprisingly not very busy during lunch time which allowed me to have an efficient workout. The gym floor and locker rooms are super clean as well.
James S. Is the best trainer! I lost so much weight and can lift double than what I started.
Nice gym, but it is one of the windowless basement locations. Some of the cardio equipment is a bit dated compared to other clubs. Nice open weightlifting area.
I was an Equinox member for over five years. I've used ~20 different clubs all over the city at different points. I'm leaving my review at the Bryant Park location because it's the one I used the most in the recent past, but this review applies to Equinox overall. First, specifics about the club: 1 It's in the basement, so if you want views / natural light while you're working out, this isn't the club for you 2 The facilities are nice and modern compared to many Equinox branches, though not as fresh as some of the newest locations Dumbo. Still, it was always one of my favorite clubs to work out in. 3 It is a nightmare at peak hours, at least in the ladies locker rooms -- think long lines for showers and hair dryers. After 9am, or if you can sneak your lunch workout in a little early or late, just avoiding the showers right around 1pm you're better off. The reason for my low star review is how disappointed I am in Equinox's cancellation policy. As someone who was a member for over five years, I should easily be able to cancel my membership; I've given this place enough money. Instead, when I went to cancel I was told cancellations don't become effective for 45 days, information that is not available on their website or in their FAQs. I also then found out I could have cancelled in the app / over the phone, even though everything on the website says you have to cancel in person. I have moved out of the city and have not used the gym since moving because I can't fit it in around my commute. All Equinox is doing is nickel and diming me at the tail end of my membership, which feels like a terrible way to treat a loyal customer. I have a sour taste in my mouth over what should have been an overall positive experience.
Amazing classes with top notch instructors. All the employees are great, front desk is always so kind and accommodating, the manager Nick is the best and always makes himself available for questions/concerns. Such a great break to come down and unwind in the middle of your day. Well worth it!
Not the best gym for weightlifting: only 3 power racks, and they generally close at 9. They also treat you like meat, not humans: I was charged 45 days in advance for canceling. I know this is in the contract, but the point is that they don't care about you. They also charge $50/guest. Go to the nearby NYSC gym instead, I hear much better things about it.
