Erie Dance Conservatory Company (EDCC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. The Company is recognized throughout the region as a leader in training aspiring young dancers. Its pre-professional training and positive, progressive repertoire create an atmosphere in which any dancer can thrive.
The Company’s diverse repertoire provides performance opportunities in classical ballet, modern, tap, jazz and hip-hop. Internationally-known master teachers and choreographers offer valuable insight and experience to the dancers’ education.
EDCC presents three annual performances in the Erie region and beyond. EDCC has collaborated with other local arts organizations to bring five performances of How the Grinch Stole Christmas to life every December since 2003. The Company has also produced the Family Winter Fantasy, which includes repertoire selections from each aforementioned dance form, as well as performances by special guest artists.
The Company is also a member of the prestigious Regional Dance America (RDA), a national organization of dancers, teachers, directors and choreographers. EDCC is among the elite of pre-professional dance companies that are adjudicated and chosen to perform in the annual RDA Festival. Participating in RDA enables EDCC dancers to be among the leading dance visionaries of our time, as well as to represent the Erie region. Moreover, EDCC is a member of the Erie Dance Consortium, a collaborative effort of local dance directors, schools and companies to promote and celebrate dance in the area.
Erie Dance Conservatory Company’s faculty and board of directors are committed to enhancing the quality of life for our community by promoting dance as an art form through performances, outreach activities, master classes with guest teachers and other dance-related experiences throughout the region.
