So nice to find some Spanish food this far north! $5 wine Wednesday, perfect!
Went for cocktails and apps with work friends and brought home dinner for my boyfriend. Apps were delicious and the cocktails were wonderful and the view rocks! I was really happy with the service too; very attentive and quick. My boyfriend's dinner enchiladas and rice was great too! Will definitely go again.
Very enjoyable dinner last night savoring delicious fresh food while watching the sunset over Burlington harbor from the little terrace. Service was friendly and efficient, and their nachos, guacamole and salsa are just so good! The carnitas are a must try and the seared tuna steak was cooked to perfection. The portions were generous for all dishes ordered, including the appetizers. Will definitely go back!!!
I saw another comment that suggested the portions were small and the service was slow-- I have to say that I have eaten a handful of items off this menu and that has never been my experience. As a vegetarian it's always a little hard to eat at Mexican joints, but the staff here is super accommodating! I love this restaurant because the owners work alongside their staff, the food is authentic, and the good vibes are always a flowin. Plus, $5 Marg night-- who doesn't love that??
Firstly FINALLY some seasoned food in Burlington. I definitely didn't feel like just money in a seat at this place and our waitress took great care of us. Good midweek deals to keep an eye for and the Margs were strong and tasteful I approve!
All dishes I've tried have flavors that remind me of an authentic home cooked meal. Nice variety of dishes offering an eclectic fusion of recipes from Mexico, El Salvador, and the Philippines. Daily seafood specials are deliciously fresh. Nice spin on fish tacos... We had seared scollop tacos with a verde sauce. Their mole sauce enchiladas are also fantastic. Great spot to relax and enjoy $4 Mexican beers on Saturdays with veiw of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks on a clear day from some of their window tables.
Excited to have pupusa again, we went to Esperanza for restaurant week and had their preset menu. Even though they were "everything" pupusa, however, they weren't particularly flavorful, or ingredient-full either. Solidly mediocre, which was disappointing. Moving on to the main course, we had decidedly mixed opinions. The mole was...okay. Again, not very flavorful, which is not how a mole should taste--it should be bold, and memorable. This was a a small drizzle of thin sauce over the top of decent chicken. The carne a la milanesa, however, was absolutely delicious. Very flavorful and savory marinade, the steak really popped. None of the sides stood out enough to mention specifically, which left us with one good main dish. Finally, they were out of their flan, leaving us with "fried" ice cream for desert. As others have noted, it really is just ice cream rolled in corn flakes. I'm pretty sure they don't even fry it--it doesn't come out hot and melting. Overall, a rather disappointing experience, especially for restaurant week.
Great food. Tortilla chips with refried beans and cheese dip is just awesome. They also serve local beer and great selection of margaritas. Good service too.
love this place! they make all their own meat and buy local corn tortillas for their chips, fantastic nachoes and margaritas! great service too!
A really great change from your average american/mexican food. Good drinks, fair prices. My only complaint would be their hours they should be open later if possible.
