Esso Club

When I say that they “got the flavor right” I mean “BABY, THEY DONE GOT THE FLAVOR RIGHT!!!” Shown here is a remix of their famous “Meat & 3”. I ordered the Cajun Fried Chicken, Collard Greens, Fried Green Tomatoes, Corn Muffin and Apple Cobbler for dessert. This meal took me back home to a time where life was more simple and revolved around cobbler. The service was impeccable too. I look forward to my next visit.

Anyone who doesn’t give this place five stars is nuts. This is as Clemson as Clemson comes. It’s theeeee university hangout. Tons of great memorabilia and even better food.

Great college bar inside and outside seating good food and cocktails fried Chicken and 3 sides and rolls

I was visiting home after living in CA for the past year and their meat and three deal hit the spot. It was so much food, all super delicious, and extremely affordable. I got the bbq pork, with the broccoli casserole, which was loaded with cheese and so good, watermelon, and their vegetable soup as sides. I got a full bowl of veg soup! I thought it would be a small cup, but it could have been a meal in itself. Their cornbread is also delicious and a good pick as a side. Great place for lunch, it wasn’t very busy, and service and the food were great.

Stopped by with GF today for lunch. She had the Caesar Wrap. She opened it up and this is what she found. I told the waitress to get her some more chicken, and she came back and said her manager there was a half chicken breast on each wrap. I told her to take it off the bill, and the manager came out and tried to argue with me that it was. Idiots. Maybe, half a breast of a chickadee

Awesome South Carolina barbecue in a really cool old building. The service was really good too.

This place has some history to it. It's a very interesting restaurant. The atmosphere is very different from other restaurants in the area. Our server was very nice and helpful and attentive.

Beer was fine. Food was overpriced and borderline inedible for my bird dog. 80% bread and three chicken nuggets on it. Girlfriend’s greyhound has spoiled chicken on it so she was unable to eat it. Spent $60 on 2 meals and 2 beers. I’ve been here in the past and it’s been great. Guess they’ve stopped even trying now that students are gone.

Love love love the Esso Club! I have been coming here for years and they never disappoint. I personally enjoy the meat & three in addition to the bird dog and BBQ wings. The only downside to this authentic Clemson venue is the parking. During lunch/dinner time parking can become rather complicated. Nevertheless, do not let this prevent you from having a heart, rather inexpensive meal at the Esso Club!
