Eurhythmics Dance Studio, located on Rosetta Street, Palmdale, just west of John’s Shoe Store, is a gem of a studio. Owned and operated by top dance teacher Ms. Gabriella Szabό. Ms. Gabriella’s career began as a gymnast, and after an injury during competition, she rested for a year. Although she graduated from college and earned a degree as a mathematics and gymnastics teacher at 21, Gabriella preferred the performing arts. She completed a three year course in two years, earning her certification in the beginners, intermediate and advance levels of ballet. She spent two years in the Hungarian Center of the Performing Arts and three years under the tutelage of the great Ballet Master “ Jeszenszky Endre”. Always energetic and seeking a challenge, Gabriella won The National Disco Competition in 1986 and appeared in the “Josephine Baker Story” as a dancer. She has danced all over Hungary and also in the world famous “Moulin Rouge”. Like many dancers, she often went to auditions to see what local and international companies had to offer on the job market. At one of these try-outs Gabriella stumbled upon a chance to dance at the “Le Cabaret Theartre” on Paradise Island. At the time, the famous Hungarian producer of “Luciano Pavarotti”, “Tibor Rudas” was the producer of the show. Of course Gabriella took the part. A few years later her dream of opening a dance studio came to life, and with loads of color and her diverse background, she mad Eurhythmics a dream come true by encompassing her love for kids with dance and music.
At Eurhythmics, students can learn classical ballet, modern dance, jazz, tap, stretch and choreography. Eurhythmics is open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Each class is an hour long. There are four levels of classes. Baby Classes “Rising Stars” (3 – 6yrs), Juniors (7 – 11yrs), Intermediate and Advance Classes (12yrs – Adult). At Eurhythmics, energetic students skip and jump into the dance studio where the walls area a Fire Engine Red, Brilliant Orange, Royal Blue topped off with Floor Length Mirrors.
At the end of every studio year, our students get to display all their techniques and talents in our year end show, which is held at The Rain Forest Theatre. Students wear glamorous costumes, move in absolute unison and glide effortlessly from side to side, front to back, where each student has a chance to be seen at the forefront. With sound training in various techniques and styles, many of our students went on to study dance to schools abroad. Others have even applied their teachings to their entertainment careers, and some have even opened their own studios. For instance, former student and now recording artist “Shakira”, “Shaness Kemp” who is now with The Philadelphia Company in the U.S. “Cura Jones” who majored in dance in London at The London Festival Ballet. “Mervin Smith” and “Merelyn Deveaux”, are both owners of their own studios.
