I haven't been here since before COVID, and I realized they have lost some of their aircraft along with all of their armored vehicles, but it is still a great experience. The museum is well maintained with tons of information and the aircraft are just amazing. There is obviously the Me262, which is incredibly rare and an incredible feat of engineering, but I was surprised to see other weirder aircraft there as well. For instance, I had never heard of, let alone seen, a Mojave. I was also excited to see that they have a Mohawk, another very interesting and rare aircraft.
A must see Air museum for any aviation enthusiast and a great place to visit for just about anyone. The kids will absolutely love it as there are all kinds of aircrafts and a section dedicated to space craft and travel – the space museum. A big added attraction for kids or perhaps the main attraction, depending on the ages and interests would be the Wings and Waves water park. Would recommend spending at least a couple of hours in each exhibit hall – the air and the space museums. Of course one might end up spending more time at the air museum exhibit hall where the main attraction Hughes H-4 Hercules ‘Spruce Goose’ is displayed. There is a special tour of the Spruce Goose provided and you should factor in some time for that as well, should you decide to take it. It wasn’t crowded at all when we visited and you can spend enough time at each aircraft display, get to know more about them and their amazing history, take pictures. You could take a break between the two exhibit halls as you can come back into the museum, the tickets are valid for multiple entries. This way you don’t overwhelm yourself in one straight stretch and get the most out of the trip. There is plenty of parking spaces available but it’s a good idea to get there early, especially if you are planning to spend the whole day visiting the museums and water park.
I have been telling everyone about this place since our visit, whether they asked or not. They have an impressive collection of aircraft and spacecraft with some very meaningful pieces included. Some of my personal favorites were the Spruce Goose, the second manned soviet space capsule to go to space, the SR-71 Blackbird, and a volunteer in the space museum who worked as an engineer on the rocket motor that started it all. We stopped here because it was on the way to something else, but we have been talking about going back ever since.
This is a very interesting place to visit and it is appealing to all ages. There are airplanes hanging from the ceiling and a few small amusement park type rides for the kids to enjoy. They had a pretty good crowd on this Saturday afternoon. There is a small restaurant inside and also a large playground outside for the kids as well. This is a clean, well organized and very informative facility. All things to do with flight are on display here and you will not be disappointed.
This was a surprise! I mostly went because my husband and son wanted to go, but it was great! The Spruce Goose is incredible and there were several sections of the space exhibit that made me emotional. We even met the gentleman that worked on the Atlas Rocket Booster. So cool! Definitely make this part of your vacation!
For someone who is not really interested in airplanes, this was a really good airplane museum. We got to see how a part of the Aviator was filmed, were able to go into airplanes and see the history of flight. Unfortunately we weren't able to go into the planes outside since the workers said the door wasn't opening and closing correctly on those planes. The kids really liked the outside airplane themed playground. It is accessible outside without admission.
This is a great museum to bring the whole family. Many awesome displays in both buildings. Obviously, the spruce goose and blackbird are the highlights but there are many other awesome planes.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$21–30
Absolutely fabulous aviation and space museum that has something that would interest almost anyone, whether you are an enthusiast, or not. Truly top-tier exhibits. I thought the Titan 2 silo reproduction all indoors! was particularly impressive... I saw the "Spruce-Goose" in Long Beach about 30 years ago- I'm glad she found a suitable home here in Oregon. At $22 for an adult admission, it's a little expensive, but I felt it was worth it. Go see this place.
A fun place to stop even if you aren’t a aviation fan. The Spruce Goose is worth the price to see. Amazing collection The day we went the AC must have been on the blink. It got so hot in there we had to leave. But we saw everything. I especially loved the old VN copters.Visited onWeekdayWait time30–60 minReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
Wow perfectly describes this place. I'd driven past the museum plenty of times with my family when we'd go to the coast, and I would always look out the car window in awe at the plane atop one of the main buildings and the jets in front of the whole museum. I recently visited and I felt like it was a dream come true, honestly. Every plane and object in exhibition was amazing in its own right, but the SR-71 Blackbird was the one that stood out the most to me. I'd read and learned about many of the main exhibitions such as the Spruce goose, the F-86 Sabre, the SR-71, the A-10, the Migs on display, the Cobra helicopter, etc., but one thing is to read and learn and another is to be physically there with the planes. In short, I was in awe at all the planes, engines, and everything else they had on display. The panels accompanying each display were very detailed and educational. The employees were especially great, bringing everything to life with stories and a passion for educating people touring the displays. Overall, the vibe of the museum is one of education and history. I will DEFINITELY be visiting again someday. I had a great time and I made plenty of great memories during my visit. Thank you!.
