I want to Thank Sherry M. for her quick response when I called to find a friend of my family who was buried in 2016. Since my parents passed away I had lost track of where he was buried and had a strong desire to visit and pay my respects. If it wasn't for Sherry confirming the grave site and actually placing a cone on the grave ~ it would have felt very overwhelming. My family friend's grave was beautiful and the grounds are gorgeous. I left feeling so happy.
A beautiful and peaceful graveyard, which serves as the resting place for many. Early settlers of Barrington are buried here, with many tombstones from the 19th century. There are many veterans, with some dedicated areas for them. Many of the loved ones of recent years are buried here as well. There are well-kept paths and I strongly recommend visiting. "It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting, for this is the end of all mankind, and the living will lay it to heart."
Beautiful and peaceful cemetery that is tucked away in a residential and worship houses area. The cemetery is open for visiting 24/7. Evergreen Cemetery is well cared for and maintained. When we visit our sons resting place we watch out for a freight train on the rails backing up to the property. It just gives us that feeling of being out in the countryside even though we are close to downtown Barrington shops and Dining.
We have buried two loved ones at Evergreen Cemetery, one in 2006 and another in 2017, and both times we had a wonderful experience working with Evergreen Cemetery. Sherry was especially wonderful to work with. She quickly responds to questions, was very personable, and never rushed me. She set up everything and the whole burial ceremony went very smoothly. The cemetery also worked very well with the funeral home we used, Smith Corcoran. The cemetery is beautiful and well taken care of. There are monuments and trees all over the grounds creating a very tranquil atmosphere. Overall, I would highly recommend Evergreen Cemetery.
