All are welcome. Evergreen Memorial is a community cemetery providing final resting places for people of all religions, races, colors and creeds.
Evergreen Memorial Cemetery was established in 1885 by Bethesda Lutheran Church of Moorhead. Originally called te Swedish Lutheran Cemetery, it welcomes people of all religions, races, colors and creeds. The 9-acre cemetery was enlarged to its present size and renamed in 1958.
Evergreen is a quiet and beautiful resting place, with well-kept turf and varied foliage of trees and shrubs. It is operated as a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation managed by a board of nine directors. Russ Hanson supervises cemetery operations; he can be reached at (218) 233-5997.
Evergreen Memorial Cemetery has many lots available in areas that permit either upright or flat markers. A separate section is set aside for infants up to one year old.
The cemetery is financed in part by a perpetual care fund established nearly 60 years ago. At least 30 percent of lot sales is dedicated to the fund, from which interest is used for operations. An endowment fund, begun in 2001, welcomes gifts from family members in memory of their loved ones.
Evergreen Memorial Cemetery is a community cemetery, providing burial places for everyone regardless of religion, race, color or creed.
