Pathways
Pathways is an exclusive opportunity for students who apply to EWU and based on their application, demonstrate that with additional support they can have a successful undergraduate program. This program was created in order to offer a higher level of support and interaction to provide students every opportunity for success.
You must be invited to join Pathways based on your application. From the pool of applicants, we look for students who may be on the cusp for standard admission as far as grades or test scores, but who are motivated to take part in a program that is structured for success. Pathways provides to its students:
Peer mentorship: You will meet twice a week with a student who is currently successful at EWU and are there to assist in navigating college life. Staying on track first year can be challenging, and your peer adviser will help guide you to good habits and show you the ropes.
Pathways Cohort: An on-campus residence experience that fosters a sense of family within the group and fosters your Eagle Pride. Students live in the same dormitory and share workshops and other activities as a group.
A dedicated Academic Adviser: an adviser in the General Undergraduate Academic Advising (GUAA) who is going to place you in the correct courses and guide you through your first year.
PLUS: PLUS has a home in the EWU Learning Commons and offers facilitated group instruction, one-on-one tutoring and a robust eTutoring site.
EWU Learning Commons: The majority of the main floor of the JFK Library is given over for tutoring and supplemental instruction. Students who participate in the programs offered have a measurable boost in GPA. Students who decide to take part in Pathways will be required to meet the specific program obligations listed in their admissions letter. (link)
