EXCEL is a unique summer academic enrichment program that offers students entering grades 4-9 accelerated one and two-week classes.
EXCEL is distinctively focused towards fostering and developing essential 21st Century and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity and collaboration in a hands-on, interactive, fun campus environment!
EXCEL, an award winning program, will celebrate its 35th year this summer at Sonoma State, and has served over 23,000 students since 1982.
The mission of EXCEL for Youth is:
• To empower the leaders of tomorrow by inspiring young students to future careers in science, technology, and the arts.
• To challenge young minds with focused classes designed to foster curiosity, involvement, and the lifelong joy of learning.
• To encourage students to strive to excel while building self-esteem and developing leadership capabilities.
• To allow students to experience the rich resources that the university has to offer and inspire them to imaging the day when they will be university students themselves.
60+ classes in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (S.T.E.A.M.) offered from June 10 - August 2 on the campus of Sonoma State University.
