I went to the Express in South hills village and had terrible experience with racial profiling. I arrived as all the stores were opening and I decided to check and see if Express had any jeans or graduation dresses. I had items in my hand ready to try on and was continuing to browse the store. Let me mention there was a white gentleman in the store when I walked in and he was also alone and browsing items, trying on blazers etc. I did not see the women working approach him ONCE. Originally they did the usual customer service bit. The “hi, how are you” etc. But I soon realized that I was being followed when I would turn and see the employee folding items that did not need folded always within arms reach of me. I started to think I was over reacting until I made two loops and each time the employee was right on my back. It was roughly 10am nothing in the store needs fixed at that time and she wasn’t cleaning up after me because I knew what I came there for so I was not searching through items. After realizing I was not wanted I placed my clothes where I picked them up and walked out. It’s crazy how in 2023 you can judge me by my skin and assume I’m going to steal but know nothing about me because if we put our lives on paper excluding race, but noting finances I can guarantee those that employee would be deemed “most likely to steal”. I hope the old woman who was working on 4/28/2023 around 10:30/11am sees this and SHAME on you. I hope you have the life you deserve.
Not the most friendly staff, but if you approach them they are very nice. They are also helpful if you ask, I think this is part of their sales approach, I heard they aren't allowed to talk to customers first. The clothing is always so cute and there's always good deals and every time I go it seems I have a $15 reward on my account. The sales associates frequently give my coupons to use as well if I don't have any. They have a wide range of sizes and it's never to crowded so you don't need to wait in line to check out or try on. This store credit card is probably one of my most used!
Extremely rude manager. I presented her with a coupon that specifically noted it can be used with “other store and site wide offers”. With an attitude, she immediately said “there’s a store wide sale going on, that can’t be used” without even LOOKING at the coupon. The disclosure wasn’t even in fine print, it was in big lettering!! It takes a split second to glance at it and READ. In addition, the item purchased rang up incorrectly in the system, and when I pointed it out, it was an immediate reaction to be defensive and basically disregard my correction. Maybe as a “manager” she should actually be able to read and take what customers say into consideration before jumping down their throats with a nasty attitude.
Not one employee offered to help me while I was in the store. I literally had to come out of the dressing room and find different sizes. Clothes are overpriced and the quality is not as good as it used to be. I’ve been shopping there for the last 10 years but I’m over Express now. I’ve removed myself from emails and will no longer be shopping here. Customer service has gone down hill and their selection of jeans is few, all they had were jeans that come up to your belly button. Lucky brand is far better quality when it comes to jeans. Poor quality for your money at Express anymore these days!!!
Walked past four different employees who didn't acknowledge that I was even in the store, but they actively greeted other customers. I couldn't find a specific pair of pants that I was looking for, and no one would open a fitting room to try on the ones I had or offer assistance if I needed another size. I get mall employees DGAF but geez. I've gone to other Express stores and didn't have this experience.
Sales associates are very unfriendly and act like it’s a major chore for them when returning items. They make faces like rolling eyes etc very immature. I do not experience this at other Express locations just South Hills.
Love Express style, but find it to be a little expensive. Luckily this location has a decent sale/clearance section, and honestly I feel like the entire store is constantly having some sort of sale anyways. Employees here are friendly too
Is it just Express' policy to instruct it's employees to ignore customers completely and talk amongst each other? I wouldn't say this if I haven't seen it at a number of store but man, now I see why brick and mortar retail is going away. Enjoy ch. 11
Always greeted when entering. Really nice people that always help if I have any questions. Nice deals when least expected. Always walk in thinking I'm gonna spend a good bit of money. And then bam! Deals as far as the can see. lol!
Every time I come to this store I am blatantly ignored by employees, who are too busy talking to each other. No one watches the front of the store, no one seems to want to be there. I've worked plenty of retail jobs and I wouldve gotten fired if I was as useless as these employees. If I'm going to pay for clothes that are this expensive I'd rather go somewhere where I am treated like a person.
