I had the opportunity to meet denielle at extra space storage on Clark st in Newark at a time in need. Moving. Moving is always stressful & and always expensive, inclusively, this was my first time getting a storage unit as well. She explained to me everything thoroughly, and helped me understand their policies and protocols to help prevent problems in the future. The facility itself is really nice too, considering it's brand new. I chose a climate controlled unit & the air conditioning is definitely a very nice feature considering I moved during a heat wave. Their security features were a little annoying at first & I would get lost often in the beginning, but after a week of having it, I appreciate how secure it is to get in and out and definitely feel like my property is protected. Overall, I felt like this location was a great choice and thank you again for all your help!
Today 2023/02/19 the door is wide open. Don’t know the reason. Put one star for attention from officers. Updated as four stars now. Below are previous one. Avoid lady! Actually she was the first one registered me, but 2nd day, I found that she forgot to give me the locker, even she didn’t agree with me, but she gave me a locker first. Thank her for that. When I found the unit she gave to me was a unit for disabled people, I asked for a switch, she refused, another man did for me. Very appreciate it! Today when I came here, someone followed me to the building, the man in office came out and stopped him, when complete, I came to office to thank him, this lady came out, said that I was the one gave one star review. Apparently she relied on notifications to look at reviews, didn’t notice that I had updated my review the next day. She is the one “only” looking at negative sides. Avoid to do anything a little harder with current system, like switching a unit. Below are my previous reviews: New one, relatively cheaper. But need time to make it mature. E.g. Blank floor plan, that you don’t know where exactly you are. No trash can, even inside the controlled area. You don’t know where to trash the old stuff from previous owners. If you are the first time here, take a picture of the floor plan with all the units on it in office, to avoid spending time to find the way to your unit. When you leave, you have to get off your car and key in your code, let the gate open for your car. The extra space between the keypads and the gate, makes you have to back up your car, before you can drive your car to pass the gate. The locker, when unlocked, not attached to anywhere, can easily be lost. Everything else is pretty good. Nice and clean, friendly and helpful. Intentionally put one star for eye balling, will update to 4 stars in a month.
What a wonderful team they have at Newark. I've spoken to two individuals there, Nelson being the latest, and they've always been courteous and helpful. Anytime I've had an issue their team has been responsive and supportive. I would recommend their location! As one heads up, do be aware that prices do go up but they do a good job communicating ahead of time.
The facility was clean, the cost was very reasonable outside the busiest areas, and there are ample security features. The downside for me was that I moved on a Sunday when there is no staff in the office. I also did not receive a map or explanations of how to operate all of the keypads necessary to access my unit during my online rental experience. Nonetheless, when I returned the next day to get the lock for my unit, staff was very helpful and responsive.
It's pretty much what you expect from an indoor storage place. To keep it simple, here are some pros and cons. PROS Facility is clean inside and out. I've seen them cleaning inside and out when I've been there Bathroom is clean. This is a bonus. Staff. If you ask nicely, the staff are pretty accommodating. CONS Carts. Bring your own. There is almost never one there for your use. Lighting. Kind of dim. Not a deal breaker, just a FYI on the subject. PRICING. They raise the price QUITE often once you move in. They figure it's a hassle moving everything again, so you will just continue to tolerate the increases. I'm sure if you ask, they'll say they all do it and they probably do. If it wasn't for constant price increases, I'd have rated it 4 stars.
great experience for short stay. the facility is clean and well lit. everything operates as it should and going to do what you do there is an easy experience. the people who work there are informative and listening to their system instructions will be helpful. i used it for a short time and it was an easy stay. thanks extra space storage.
I just rented at this location. I just showed up and asked some information. Danelle Colaci was the assistant manager who helped me. Straight from the beginning she was amazing, very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. She took the time to show me several options so that I could make sure to get the size I needed. Yes, this is her job but how you do your job is up to you. After showing me all the units, answering the questions I had then the questions my husband had when I called him she informed me that she would be able to help me there. I said the site stated 2 different prices for going in to the office and online. She said that she can help for the online price there, so we did it. I am writing this because she took the extra mile to give me and my questions one on one time. She took pride in what she did and gave me 100% customer service. I hope Extra Space Storage takes care of her because if they don't I will bring her with me to my company, we need more workers like her in general.
Nelson and team are very friendly and gave me great tips on how to get the best value for my storage. The units are clean and well-lit.
Excellent staff. Gave me a free month that I didn’t know I qualified for. Far cheaper than other local storage units and once I got back to my unit it was oriented in a fantastic direction really pleasantly surprised. The only annoyance is leaving. The key pad is tucked away in corner making it an unnecessary obstacle when leaving. Other than that a friendly staff very clean and as good as they come for storage units.
