Eye Q Optical

I have been going here for YEARS during undergraduate and graduate school. The space is clean, air conditioned or heated well, and how they schedule patients makes it seem like you’re the only person there at the time I don’t like it crowded or loud. I love how it feels very patient-centered. The professionals here are very personable and kind— especially Lory and Dr. Mallampalli. Lory is my go-to person whenever I need glasses minimal and sophisticated. I’ve always gotten compliments on how they flatter me from my coworkers and friends. I would definitely recommend coming here.

I've been a patient here for four years. My only complaint is the staff consistently turns over, so I have never had the same doctor twice even though i go in every year for my checkup. However, somehow this business continues maintains high standards with quality, knowledgeable staff, tidy and modern atmosphere, top-notch equipment, good choices for glasses, and great info/options on contact choices. Recommend.

I had such a great experience at Eye Q! I’m in a tight spot with money and insurance right now, but I really need new glasses. Everybody was super helpful in explaining my options, setting me up for an exam, and even patching up my old glasses so I can continue wearing them until my new frames get here. It was a huge weight off my chest, and I’m so happy to have this place in my neighborhood.

I first went to Eye Q when I lived in Jamaica Plain, and after moving to both Mattapan and Dorchester they stayed my preferred optical care provider. The staff is friendly and never fail to make me feel like I'm among friends, and they make sure the frames I pick out look good on my face. It's a bit of a pain getting there on public transit from Dorchester, but I keep going back because they're that good. My insurance covers my exams and glasses, and they just dealt with my insurance to get them to pay for bifocals for distance/computer lenses after initially being declined because the new lenses looked too close to last year's distance/reading prescription.

I've been going to Eye Q Optical in Jamaica Plain for several years now and have always had a positive experience. My most recent appointment was no exception, with prompt service, helpful information and friendly employees in both the front and back of the store. I will continue "seeing" Eye Q Optical for all my vision needs.

I went there yesterday to get my glasses straightened. I had talked with one of the workers there, Lory, who assisted me with excellent customer service. She was super helpful and friendly. I would recommend this store to all my friends and family.

Everything goes well until that one person comes along and spoils the excitement for a new adventure in this place. There Is a man with long hairpony tail which from my opinion has been here there for a while now. My wife was asked to sign a paper but she suffers from dyslexia so in my opinion it is his job to be be informative about what is on the paper before she begins to read or sign it. Well that was not the case she had to read it alone and sure enough she got something mixed up due to her condition she signed it not knowing that she had to pay 39.99. we asked him why did he not inform us of this and he instantly started acting rude and unprofessional. Tried to explain that several other eye optical places waive these things approved by the doctor and he just continued to not listen. Very poor customer service on his part. Wife was not satisfied with this.

I walked in today for the first time to have a repair made and was greeted by Lori Leverone. She was extremely professional, personable, and very helpful. My repair was completed, and I was on my way in about 20 minutes. They also have beautiful frames on site, and doggie treats for animals lovers while you wait. My experience was all positive, and my vibe was on high on my walk back home! This place gets three thumbs up from me!

Very helpful, patient staff. 10/10 experience. Was hoping for more neutral frame options, but I have to admit I love my Clark Kent olive green frames!

My friend went for eye prescription at this location included within benefits however staff did not inform my friend about the additional charge of about $168 for contact lens prescription. It was never mentioned until he was told to pay for it after all of the examinations was completed. This is quite unprofessional as examination costs should be very upfront and clear.
