Serving Hood River County since 1969
Except for two half-time employees, FISH is an all volunteer organization. Different groups of volunteers take turns
FISH Food Bank is a volunteer based organization with three part time employees. Volunteers take turns opening the food bank each week providing groceries to those in need of emergency or occasional food assistance. Those groups of volunteers include members of churches, fraternal organizations, businesses, schools, and families. Other volunteers track food donations, stock shelves, pick up donations from local grocery stores, clean the sites, deliver food to shut-ins, and a myriad of other jobs, all done to keep FISH Food Bank operating efficiently and smoothly.
Celebrating over 45 years of Service to our community!
In cooperation with faith groups, businesses and community members, it is the mission of the FISH Food Bank to help alleviate hunger by distributing food regularly and on an emergency basis, regardless of gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation and in a friendly, instant, sympathetic, helpful, nonjudgmental and confidential manner.
FISH Food Bank is a United Way of the Columbia Gorge partner and recipient.
