Visual Artist
Fabiola Martinez is a Latin American artist born in Mexico based in Quispamsis NB. She in interested in natural resources and the preservation of ancestral techniques. In the past years Fabiola has been spending time researching a creating environmental work. She took an intensive course in Mexico: Color “es” Natural “es” focus in the pigmentation process of cochineal. Fabiola was also part of the ArtsLink NB - Arts + Culture Accelerator Founding Cohort in 2015.
Her “Scarlet Thorns” Visual project was awarded with a creation grant by the New Brunswick Arts Board 2015.
Fabiola has presented her work all around New Brunswick and Vancouver BC and and recently she was selected to be part of the exhibition SMALLER FOOTPRINTS: Women Respond to Climate Change at the Museum of Art and History Lancaster, California 2016.
Fabiola has been working in the community teaching and passing her experience to younger generations and she was nominated as an Immigrant Entrepreneur 2016 by Fusion Saint John.
Fabiola is currently working on “Assemblé” a visual Art project in collaboration with the Rothesay Ballet School to celebrate the 40 anniversary of the School with 40 dancers and 40 paintings.
