I have bought several appliances from Factory Direct Appliance over the years. They have done a good job competing on price and delivery service with Nebraska Furniture Mart, and other appliance dealers in Lawrence. They have a pretty good selection and will order stuff not in stock. The delivery guys were prompt, and gentle with our delivery and installation. I tried to use their service for some broken appliances. Wow they are expensive, and unresponsive. $90 to walk through the door, and on top of that they couldn't come to fix my stuff for over a week! I imagine there are better service places in Lawrence.
I have purchased several appliances from Factory Direct over the years, always with great service, great price, and great knowledge. The last two purchases I have worked with Greg L. who was extremely helpful... really went out of his way to research exactly what I needed. I will no doubt be back next time I need an appliance!
We purchased all of our kitchen appliances here. Great prices and selection. They delivered them for us. The fellas did a very careful job during delivery getting them in the kitchen. Installed them too! We appreciated the service offered by Factory Direct.
I, like many others, have bought the majority, if not all, of our appliances over the years from this company. Recently we replaced our dishwasher. At the time the company was running a "free install " promo. We have put wood floors in and it makes it a tight fit as you slide the dishwasher in. I know this because i ended up installing the appliance myself. This leads me to my explanation of the weak rating i have given the company. My issue is with the follow up. The installers came on a Tuesday, said they couldn't install because there wasnt enough room. I called the office and they said we might need to order a smaller machine and asked me to measure. I measured and, to my confusion, noticed that in fact the appliance could fit. I called back said that it would fit and needed the installers to come back. Well apparently they were booked that Friday, the following Tuesday but might be able to make it out the following Thursday but they would have to check the schedule....wow. i asked them to check and let me know. In the meantime, I, a banker, read the instructions and installed without getting electrocuted or having flooded my kitchen that is saying a lot..ask my wife. 4 weeks later...still haven't heard from the company regarding my install . I went to factory direct partly because i thought i would get better service. I didnt, so the next purchase will likely be more based on price than service...big box, here i come I am so disappointed .
As many times as we've purchased appliances, whether at a dealer, online or a discount store, we have had our best experience with the folks at Factory Direct Appliance in Lawrence. They have an excellent selection of appliances in all price ranges. They also are very knowledgeable about features and other pertinent information. Very friendly to deal with.
In terms of selling, delivering and set up, this company is as good as anyone. But as Mr. Dominguez stated, when the appliance is in need of repair, this company is by far, the worst in terms of timely response and repair. Our ice maker is in need of repair and it will take two weeks to secure the replacement...this is after we waited a week to get a service rep scheduled to determine the problem. It is difficult to understand why it takes so long to get a replacement part for such a high profile part as a ice maker. Its not like an ice maker is a specialized custom feature in todays market. Never again..
We like Factory Direct and Stoneback very much! However, I would never go to Factory Direct for repair. That's not their forte. And, do your own research! Their staff is good, but YOU need to know about the brand you're purchasing.
I would give them 00000 stars....worst place to buy an appliance in all my 60 years..never ever again !! I would go to Nebraska Furniture Mart..which I will probably have to do soon...since our 4th fridge in 3 1/2 YEARS JUST died on us...oh yeah..they will come out again, probably will cost $500 at least and send a repairman that does not know what he is doing. This TOP OF THE LINE Kitchen Aid $4,000 fridge is just a little over a year old, so they won't honor the warranty or the 3 year warranty we bought with the first fridge . They worked on this fridge in December, for the same thing that is wrong now, but won't do anything now, after all we have been thru with them in 3 1/2 years...spoiled food hundreds of dollars, no compensation. Repairman that didn't lay any cloths down while working on the freezer..completely saturated my carpet in the family room..tracked dirt all over..need I say more!! I have had it..surely there is a law suit in there. The only good thing was a Repairman from their store in Topeka that would come this way because several customers would not let the Repairman from Lawrence come to their house. Guess what, the great guy from Topeka got canned and they kept the other guy. Any way you look at it, we are screwed...I have felt intimidated to write a review on here before, but I don't care now...maybe I can keep someone from making the same mistake we did...BUYER BEWARE!!!!! WE spent over $6,000 on appliances when we moved and remodeled...they don't care!!!!
my wife and I have been 3 times and never not one time were we asked if we needed yelp or if we were looking for something or even talked to 1 time. Then my wife went back with her mom before christmas to buy a new washer and dryer my wife asked for help twice and was told in a second twice so they left. Great place to look then go buy some were else.
Bought a dishwasher last October. Two months in I noticed that the water wasn't draining and the door wasn't latching correctly. Now almost a year later it isn't washing dishes nor draining the soap right. Called for help and they were rude and uneducated on what I should do next.
