I don’t understand the ratings on here. My son was baker acted and sent from a highly rated rehab/mental health establishment to here. My son was treated great and received more help in 2 days than he did for a week and a half at the other highly rated facility. Kaylenee was his counselor and just wonderful, went and above and beyond to help my son and our family throughout this transition. My son said all the staff he dealt with here, during such a low time in his life were great
Regrettably my LO ended up here. Things started off very well considering the circumstances. Our family was contacted almost immediately after admission and kept informed for the first two days. Then, suddenly a shift in communication and treatment planning. The discharge process was swift and fair to poor. No connection with the continuing treatment provider was made before discharge and only day of notice was given to our family for pick up. Regarding treatment, I do believe the Dr did not diagnose properly and missed an opportunity to help my LO stabilize further outside in community eventhough they fully fit criteria. My gut tells me it's because to do so would take effort and Drs don't want to take the time to write up the petition and attend court. Much easier to keep the individual sick and in the revolving door. Would not recommend if you are truly seeking an environment conducive to long-term wellness.
Our families experience at Fair Oaks, Unit 2 was treated with dedicated, compassionate, and exceptional care, NOT only towards our family member, but to us as as well. From the techs, Shannon, Carlos, and others, to the nurses, Paul, Jerry, Brenda, Janet, Stephanie, Kevin, Vlad, Sharon and Ann Marie and so many others, I can't Thank You enough. Dorothy and Dan provided insight as her therapists and kept us informed on a daily basis for the. long days ahead. This was a long process for us, and not once did we 3ver feel the care was less than superior. Sitting in the waiting room for the 1st visit was terrifying as a parent. Just know your loved one is safe and getting the treatment needed by qualified, Staff with hearts and dedication to help your Child, Parent, or other family member thrive. The time spent with me at any time of day, was extremely respectful and full of knowledge.Paul and Dorothy went above the norm with educating and compassion in working with our families fears. Thank You all for your Kindness. Your jobs are so important, but your Hearts will forever be remembered.
I was admitted to the hospital 30 years ago. My mother and father had just called it quits, my mother was abusing and my father chose to start over. When I had entered the hospital it was on a Bakers ACT. I was 15 and I tried to commit suicide. This was the wrong place to go. I was supposed to be in there for 30 days. I begged the doctors to release me to my father, my mother was horribly abusive. My father had wonderful health insurance on both my brother and I. When my father canceled my health insurance after 8 months of being locked up at Fair Oaks, they had said I was cured. I never want to see a kid, like I was captured for profit. While I was there, they administered Thorsine injections into patients to subdue them I can only tell my story, but this is a place that will trap you and keep you until your insurance runs out. Till this day, 30 years later I still have nightmares of Fair Oaks.
If I could give this place a “0” I would! Do.Not.Come.Here! They made a big deal about transferring my son to a hospital closer to his home and that he was familiar with and where his doctors could care for him. No one ever could give us a good reason. It is a patient’s right to receive treatment where they please. They didn’t seem to care about rights! On top of that no one ever returned phone calls or updated us on anything. If you did happened to speak to someone they were extremely rude. Would never come here again!
THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING AND INHUMANE! Took 32 hours before a doctor even saw my mother. She laid there shaking with anxiety and they wouldn’t give her anything to help calm her. Patients were deficating in the hallways and it took hours before it was cleaned up. Not sure which is worse, the food or the service. DO NOT GO HERE! PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT TO YOUR LOVED ONE.
This place is a disgrace. My best friend was going through a depression; she needed to be admitted, as an inpatient for mental attention. There are a lack of choices for places to go for inpatient...due to the insurance companies...so my friend ended up at Fair Oaks Pavilion, in Delray Beach. No one truly did anything for her. In addition, there were NO water available. They had water when they went an eat, but once back in their "quarters," the water fountain seriously, was broken. Her husband showed up, and she was in a little ball position on a chair, crying her eyes out...and no one was near her to give her the time of the day...72 hours later, she was out. She didn't receive any treatment, and she wasn't admitted as an inpatient with mental health disorder, as a matter of fact, she wasn't admitted at all. Where's the help??? That is truly INSANE! Fair Oaks Pavilion, in Delray Beach, should be shut down or hire a complete new staff, from the way top, going all the way to the way bottom.
Picked my daughter up from Fair Oaks last friday November 1st she had such bad tremors she could not brush her own teeth She continues to have tremors and very flat affect 1 week later. She was not like this when she entered this place it is a tragedy
This facility is dangerous and disgusting. There is fighting among the patients. They kidnapped my son and would not release him to my care to take back home. They lie and manipulate the system to and take advantage of your insurance. I fully plan on filing a lawsuit.
