This gorgeous red brick library consists of the Georgian style Tracy Mansion and two additions built of matching brick. A sign outside the original portion of the library details the history behind its construction and the famous men who visited during its time as a private residence.
I love this library. I visit on a regular basis and find it to be excellent. Great workspaces including the meeting rooms and the wing where you can use cell phone and hold small meetings. The staff is helpful and pleasant. I took out a book and didn't return it by due the due date and discovered they renew it automatically. Great place to visit and work.
The NBPT Library is terrific. Great resources and the staff have always been friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Beautiful and comfortable place to read and even work too.
What a great 1st time visit I had today! I made an appointment to visit the Special Collections area. I was pleasantly surprised when Sharon had a table, with the volumes I inquired about, laid out for me. She also pointed out some other volumes that may be helpful to my genealogy research. I look forward to going back.
Lovely place full of wonderful books
Great for extra events ..wensday movie's usually from 2:30 to 4:30 currently masks are required, check calendar for movies being aired, as well as other virtual and activities they have and great hours.
The staff are are always eager to help. I feel that we are lucky to have such a great library in our town. Visit some of the other libraries in the area and you'll see how fortunate we are to have a modern facility with staff that are professional and knowledgeable about all of the resources that are available there. I've lived in Newburyport for over 25 years and the people that work at the library have made every visit a pleasant experience.
Been working like clockwork for me throughout the pandemic, both on-site and ILL including CommCat. Movie selection especially including ILL titles and Kanopy subscription have kept me well stocked for stuff that is scarce elsewhere.
Very friendly and helpful, was in and out in no time. Thanks ladies..
Check out afternoon movies at 2:30 p.m. every Wednesday. Great selection and they are free!
