If you are a young adult who is looking to becoming a firefighter or be part of a team environment. This may be the place for you.
The Explorer Prgram is made up of young adults between 14 (and in high school) and 21 years of age. The goal of this program is to allow a young adult, interested in pursuing a career in firefighting, the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to achieve and meet the minimum requirements to become a firefighter. The program is free and not restricted to Fairfield residents. The requirements to become an explorer is to be between the age ranges listed above. If in high school you must maintain a 2.0 or higher and not have a criminal history. The explorer is required to purchase their own pair of black work pants and black work boots. The mission of Explorer Post 8651 is to instill good values in young adults and gain valuable fire training experience while having fun serving our community.
