Fairview Elementary School is a public school accredited by AdvancEd and the North Carolina State Department of Public Instruction. The school is located in Fairview, approximately 6 miles southeast of Asheville. The staff serves an approximate population of 700 kindergarten through fifth grade students. A Headstart class is also located on the site. The faculty includes one principal, one assistant principal, one art specialist, one music teacher, one physical education teacher, two speech therapists, three special education teachers, six intensive intervention teachers, one media specialist and twenty-nine classroom teachers. Additional services are regularly provided by an AIG specialist, a program placement specialist, an instructional coach, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, school psychologist, social worker, and English as a Second Language teacher, a part-time school nurse, and approximately 25 full-time and part-time instructional assistants.
