My 9 year old son broke his arm while playing at his cousins house in Forest Lake. I debated driving him to Children’s in St. Paul but decided to go to the closest hospital. Everyone was there was kind and gentle, but also very thorough and efficient. They took the time to calm my son’s nerves and answer his incessant questioning he wanted to know every detail about what they were doing and he left there saying he wants to be a doctor. Excellent care and bedside manner from the front to back. Thank you so much for taking care of my son!
To ALL of the hospital staff including nurses, techs, doctors and more, and to the ambulance drivers and supporters, you were all amazing and I cannot thank you enough for everything that you do. This message though is for a special nurse named Pamela. I did not get her last name, but if people don't know who she is, they really should get to know her! My Nurse Pam worked the overnight shift, I came into her shift around 10pm on a Tuesday transferred from another hospital.. spider Anyway, Getting to the point...Pamela is an amazing person and so wonderful at her job she was there for me Anytime I needed it, she made me feel safe and comfortable.. seriously, she even RAN down the hallway to get me a heated blanket when I got the shivers she even explained later that it was possibly from shock but she was so concerned as she didn't want me to hurt my ribs anymore than they were. She was so kind and thoughtful to me, and as upset as I was to have to stay another night, she calmed me, and I was able to breathe a sigh of relief when she came in the door again as my nurse that next evening. She even made me her first stop.. just to check in on me. I hope she gets to see this, because I would love for her to know that I made it through this in a positive way Because Of Her. Thank you so much, I appreciate you All.
I was there last night for a pain in my right side. I was checked in and told it might be my appendix and I will be seen shortly. Of course after being told this, I was worried. It took them 51/2 hrs to get me in. While I was there a lady came in with a bloody nose that kept bleeding and it wouldn't stop.we watched this lady and it took them 45 min. To get her back in the ER. She was bleeding so bad she filled up 7 masks with blood and the only thing they did for her was to clean floor where the blood had dropped. The Dr and nurse in the back after I got in was very good.it took me 10 1/2 hrs to be took care of. This is a very poor ER and I will drive the 55 min. To the cities next time. I won't even give this hospital a 1 but I have to give it something. Read the reviews before going there please.
Upon my grandfather being taken to the ER on account of low blood sugar twice in one week I got to experience the Wyoming Hospital ER. The nursing staff were rude and had no patients with my 86 year old grandfather who is very slow to move around. One older female nurse had an issue with us keeping the room door open even though my papa, the patient, wanted it open. The patients are the ones paying the HUGE medical bills so if the patient wants the door to stay open, then there should be no problem with him wanting to keep it open. She then lectured me in a rude manner to use the call light if I need anything all because I went to the desk of the nursing station ONCE to ask them if they could scoot my papa up in his bed. When I used the call button before this incident happened to receive warm blankets because my papa was shaking he was so cold, I called, they said they would be in, about 7 minutes went by and no blanket, so we called again and then they finally arrived with a blanket. This is also funny given during first admittance into the ER when I arrived they did NOT give him the nurse call light button. The first doctor we saw seemed very egocentric and impolite. He would barley acknowledge me and didn't want to hear my answers to questions in which my papa didn't know the answer to or was confused about. The only staff member I have encountered who was attentive, professional, caring, and polite was Dr. Genia. He is the best doctor I have seen at this hospital and wish other staff members here followed his lead.
9/5/2022 - Currently sitting in room 18, coming up on waiting 4 hours to be seen by a doctor. Place has to be critically understaffed or they are just truly horrific at giving health care services. Update 9/6/2022 - ended up spending 7 hours there until they completed what was needed. Was supposed to receive a call from surgical department today to schedule a followup today and never received a call. I even tried to call them and only received the voice mail. Hopefully I hear from them tomorrow.. Do not go here unless you absolutely have to. Update 9/9/2022 - I've called several times, left a voice mail with the department my referral was for and got a hold of one person who said they'd get back to me and I still haven't heard a single thing from Fairview. Thank God I went to Osceola medical center to follow-up and help with what Fairview failed to do. Absolutely disgusting how negligent, incompetent and worthless this medical institution is. Again, do not go here unless it's the absolute last option.
Slow and lazy. They don't care AT ALL about patients. I had my grandmother there months ago and she waited 4 hours before being seen while she was suffering from sepsis and other problems. They let people sitting next to us, who were eating and laughing go first. "Worst goes first" BS. My friend and her son have been sitting there for 4.5 HOURS. Her son has pancreatitis and they're just taking their sweet ol' time. That poor kid has been suffering from pain and other issues and he has to sit 4.5 HOURS. No. This is the WORST hospital EVER.
Marsha, Paula and the entire Cardio Rehab team are the perfect blend of knowledgeable, professional, personal and practical. Had a great experience, great care, just enough challenge and the launch of life changes that are still going strong six months later.
ER: The last two times I’ve gone they have been great! I had COVID in October and came there and they were very kind and helpful. The doctor I saw then was a nice younger woman. I just went with my toddler who had been puking all day. The nurse she had was amazing and the older guy doctor was so kind!
The ER doctors dictators and hospitalists, would not meet with me or my family to talk about my fathers health care. He was medically kidnapped. He did not have his glasses, hearing aide or advocate. They said we couldn't move him, they said we couldnt change doctors or have a right to try. The ICU eventually killed him with the wrong medications, bad protocol, poor nutrition and appalling "healthdeath care." They called the police on us twice because we were trying to help him, see him, love him and see he got proper care. This hospital along with so many are signed up with the devil and the government to recieve multiple payments for diagnosis, admittance, so called care, treatment and death. They almost killed our neighbor but luckily the family was able to remove him from the hospital where they said he was going to die... but he lived. The so called professional doctor called my Father a 'crookedy old man'. I said NO, actually, he cleans, shops, cooks, works at the store, fishes, mows the lawn, does the laundry, looks after his wife. Go to hell, wyoming hospital. You sold your souls.
Dont waste your time coming to this hospital. Go else where for care. Over 2 hour wait time to be seen in Emergency room, I would know as I brought some one here. The person I brought down here was told to get here asap for re evaluation by an Emergency room lab nurse, and knew the person was coming down and yet still had patient sit for 2 hours waiting knowing they are high-risk.. Emergency room its self was very disgusting to say the least.... Needle caps and other things laying on the floor... Spilled fluid etc.... Yuck.... They say they clean between patients but obviously they don't. Very disappointing. Oh and the nurses need to learn some bed side manners and not be rude to the patients. I understand they are over worked and tired but still treat the patient how you want to be treated.
