Staff very nice to me. 2 hour wait but they gave me pain pills. My daughter with her teeth pushed in got no pain pills. We were obviously bleeding and in pain and they left us set 2 hours in the waiting room. When I got to the room they immediately put a neck brace on me. What a waste after 2 hours! I had 2 large cuts on my head but they only found 1 of them. The other went untreated. I found it weeks later after touching being able to touch my head without pain.
This is a not a very good place to go for care. My daughter brought her friend in who is has had stage 3 ovarian cancer and had just finished chemo and radiation in the last two weeks. She began experiencing pelvic pain and vomiting earlier in the week and was given antibiotics at local urgent care. She continued to worsen throughout the week with severe pelvic pain to the point that we brought her to this ER. My daughter’s friend was screaming and writhing in pain while there and Dr Traci Lynn Pepper that treated her was very cold and acted like she didn’t believe me when I told her she had been a cancer patient and said none of the tests showed anything and sent her home with Motrin. I ask you if someone writhing and screaming in pain does not warrant more care than that what the hell is the ER/hospital for. Just another example of a young female being brushed off by the medical system!
Let me first say the staff is very friendly but other than that I hope to not visit again. The ER was not very busy but it took over 3 hours for a broken foot. Most of that was waiting. I was told upon check in it'd be about 20- 25 min to get into x-ray. X-ray took less than 5 min. Meeting with nurse & doc took at most and I'm being generous 15 min. There was ZERO sense of urgency with any of the patients. Not to mention pain relief was definitely not at the top of their to do list. I was sent home with a very painful broken foot and told to take ibuprofen. That's it.
The older Security guard is very rude no matter how polite i have been to the.. might be thay are because if my skin color. Also, doctor was an absolute ignorant. He misdiagnosed. I dont understand why do they get paid 600,000 a year without basic knowledge. Stay away from this hospital if you want get good treatment.
5/11/23 5 hours with 95 year old father never again. How low and corporate we have become to not realize how we treat others without the golden rule or kindness. To make a family sit at midnight for one more hour to remove their heart monitor and blood pressure cuff for one more reading before leaving - at 198/90 unthinkable. Horrible experience.
Cannot thank the Nurses and Doc at Fairview enough. Had to wait a while to be seen, and then get a room, yes. But the care and treatment I received trumps everything. Huge shoutout to Pam does the initial IV/triage, Doc JJ, and Nurses - Sarah, Thor and Carrie in Surgery, and finally Debbie and Rachel for surgery prep and aftercare. However, the Front desk staff needs to be trained on customer service and empathy.
They got me in a room very quickly and most of the nurses were very polite and professional. But after 4 hours of waiting in the room, I got a call about a family crisis and I notified the nurse staff and they assured me they would talk the Dr about discharging me. Moments later I hear the nurse and Dr refer to me by my bed number and then laugh about the fact that I wanted to leave. Another hour goes by and I ask again, telling them that I am about to just unhook myself and walk out because I have a family crisis to take care of. They tell me they will talk to the Dr. I waited another 30 minutes before I had to demand they unhook me so I can leave. In all that time, I still was not given the results of any off the tests they performed. Completely disrespectful to my time and it was clear that Fairview doesn't care about me.
Called and spoke to a nurse explaining my dad's terminal condition. She said to come to the ER and they would admit him. Took more than 8 hours in the waiting room before he was seen. They kept him in the ER overnight, so no way for my mom to stay with him. Came back next day, he's still in the ER, no rooms available. Can't get anyone to explain what's happening, his nurse is never around.
Appreciate the empathy, dedication and hard work of the staff, it's a tough job working in the Emergency Room. We were at the Emergency Room with my 85 year old mother between the hours of 2pm-11pm. The first two-hours were good as she was given numerours test. Around 8pm we were finally seen by an ER Doctor and from what we could tell, only one Doctor on staff at the time. A second lab test was administered, which a nurse came back one hour later to tell us the lab lost the test, so another hour went by and yes, I asked to expedite the test which did not happen until the lab results came back. By the time we met with the Doctor and were discharged, it was 11pm. We all understand that ER rooms are short staffed, yet our experience was filled with chaos, the process is definitely mismanaged at this location. In the future if we can, we will avoid going to Fairview Ridges.
I am from Florida working for two weeks in the Twin cities and had to get my appendix removed. I can’t say how grateful I am to the staff at this hospital. All professionals great at what they do all day. From start to finish it was all attention to detail to make sure everything was done to a T. I am forever in debt for what they did for me I appreciate everything done here at this hospital
