Fallbrook Church

Description

While serving as a Youth Minister in 1993, God placed the vision of starting a church on the heart and mind of Michael A. Pender. After much prayer, preparation, and assistance from many faithful Christians, the Pender family along with three other families founded Fallbrook Church.

In September 1994, Fallbrook Church held its first public service at Gray Elementary School, in North Houston. We experienced fruitful years at that location; creating disciples out of new converts and helping believers experience a fresh relationship with the Lord. Our focus moved to worshipping in small groups in November 1994 with Bible studies and other fellowships in individual homes. From these small groups, God created leaders, preachers, deacons, and other department heads.

From January 1997 to January 1998, Fallbrook leased office space (less than 1,000 square feet) for the administrative offices and to conduct Bible Studies, Vacation Bible School, Youth Revival, Children’s Fellowship, Couple’s Banquet, Women’s Ministry activities, and much more.

In January 1998, we agreed to co-lease space at New Jerusalem Community Church and held our first service there the following month. Fallbrook’s ministry matured and great things happened as the Lord continued to add to our numbers.

In 1999, Pastor Pender held a church meeting where he shared the Lord’s plan of blessing us with a new facility. A building committee was organized and in November 2000, Fallbrook closed on 6.14 acres of land on Walters Road in North Houston. During the fall of 2001, we broke ground to build a 9,000 square foot multi-purpose building.

March 2002 began a new chapter in our history as we held our first service in what is now our Auxiliary Building. Our Phase II building (what is now our Community Center) was opened in August 2004 and soon after, we launched a building campaign for Phase III (Worship Center), "Committing to Christ to Serve Our Community". This campaign was overwhelmingly embraced by the Fallbrook family.

On Easter Sunday 2009, we opened the doors to Phase III of our worship legacy, providing a 2,500 seat worship center, fully equipped with a double gym, bookstore, café and ample space for discipleship training, conferences, missions outreach, adult, children and youth learning classes, a Christian academy, before-and-after-school program, town hall meetings, association meetings, summer camps, sporting events and more.

In less than two years, Fallbrook was faced with yet another challenge due to exponential growth. Our preschool, children and youth facilities had reached capacity. In September 2010, after continued prayer and wise counsel, we began our fourth building campaign, “100 Years From Now” for the construction of a modern day Children and Youth Education Building.

From the very beginning, God has shown favor on this ministry; however, to whom much is given, much is required. Fallbrook’s mission is to Reach Our Community One Home at a Time and Change the Way People Think About the Church Forever”. We have never lost sight of this great commission from God. Fallbrook Church currently serves as home to over 7,000 members. To date, 2,600 individuals have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and were baptized.
Fallbrook Church has come a long way, but we have yet to scratch the surface of what God has in store for us. We welcome the opportunities that He has placed before us to further the Kingdom of God through the study of His word and empowering His people.
