Very nice park. Well kept and even though it's not officially part of the national park service they do still have a stamp for you NPS book. It is not staffed They do have restrooms and a water station.
Another sad day for the Native Americans, but a beautiful historical site, well preserved once again by the metroparks. I must add, the bathrooms and nature center are amazing.
Nice little place in general. It has a 1.5 mile walking track that is well cared for. GPS confirms the stated 1.5 mile loop. Pets allowed on leash, no bikes allowed. Though, curiously, the visitor center has a bike self repair station out front even though both the big map and the sign at the front of the trailhead both read "no bikes". Do they expect you to bike here multiple miles from the nearest residential area, then just get off and walk a mile and half, turn around and ride home? The trail itself is decent, and includes very nice benches and many placards with historical information about the area, the battlefield, the battle, and the people involved, spread out through the loop. I will say, the front half of the trail, nearest the visitor center, is a quite nice walk through the woods. However, the back half is another story entirely. It lines up against the freeway interchange, and the noise from the roadways was near unbearable. The forestry service is clearly attempting to regrow the native forest in that area, and in another 20 years or so when those saplings mature, it may be quieter. But as it was today, even with my earbuds in and music on, the road noise was still pervasive.
Very nice walking park, a lot of history on the battlefield.
The "Visitor Center" is actually a rental meeting room. So if you are expecting an interpretation of the battlefield you may be disappointed. The 1.5 mile walking trail is beautiful and has some generic interpretation signs. Great place to walk. There are bathrooms available.
Never knew this was here. Learned a little more about the area. Refreshed my memory on Ohio history. Nice walk through the park and history lessons along the way.
Nice mile and a Half walk. Lots of trees. Well maintained. Not crowded. And there are bathrooms available.
Unfortunately, there is no visitor center. No one was around to help with any issues or give any information. There was a board behind the “future visitor center” but the stamp had been stolen. Of course, if it was in a building or with a ranger, this would not have happened. Now, the park was nicely kept. There was some information on the board that told a little of the story of the area. The walking trail was nice, muddy but that was ok because it had been pouring rain that morning. If I’m ever in Toledo again, I may stop back but disappointed in the overall experience.
Visitor center is a future event The stamp was located on a sign to a foot car that took you along a trail of the battlefield. The actual monument was farther up the road from The visitor center and that is what the pictures are of very well maintained park.
We rode our bikes through the battlefield and it was a great trip
