Does your loved one need Medicaid but isn't qualified? Have you gotten your estate plan in order with a will or trust? The elder law attorneys at the Family First Firm have helped thousands of Central Florida families with these issues - and many more!
Geoff Hoatson, founder of the Family First Firm, is a long-time resident of Central Florida. He attended the University of Central Florida for his undergraduate degree. While at UCF, Geoff graduated in three years with a Bachelors of Sciences degree from the College of Business with an emphasis in Economics and was invited to become a member of the esteemed Burnett Honors College. That focus on economics gives Geoff a solid foundation for both family and estate matters in which finances are often a major consideration.
Upon graduation from UCF, Geoff attended Emory University School of Law, which is ranked as one of the top 20 law schools in the country by U.S News and World Reports.
After graduating from Emory, Geoff returned to Central Florida where he worked with a local firm before founding the Family First Firm. Initially, Geoff practiced law in the “traditional” way – billing hourly and preparing the same documents and pleadings as everyone else. However, he realized something wasn’t right. After careful reflection upon his values and goals, he decided to make a change. Instead of focusing on the “billable hour”, Geoff began charging flat fees on all of his cases. He concluded that people want to know – up front – exactly how much their case or estate plan is going to cost. Geoff wanted each client to feel comfortable calling or e-mailing him knowing that they wouldn’t receive a bill the next week. There’s never any billing surprises here.
After the birth of his daughter, he began revising his own estate plan and realized that there was a gap in the traditional estate planning documents. He started focusing on filling that void and helping families protect their children through every phase of their lives. This is where he is today – helping families protect their children and assets – whether it be from divorce, creditors, or the tax man. Geoff is a lifetime counselor and adviser to many Central Florida families and would be honored to be yours as well.
Geoff is admitted to the Florida Bar and is a member of Florida Bar Section of Family Law Attorneys. Additionally, he is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is a member of the Seminole County Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association.
On a personal level, Geoff plays and composes music on the piano, is a rabid football fan, enjoys finding new and delicious restaurants around Central Florida, and adores spending time with his wife and daughters.
