The Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) Network is the national representative of FMIG groups at medical schools across the nation. We are here as a resource for medical students (and as champions) of the family medicine specialty.
The American Academy of Family Physicians established the National FMIG Network to aid communication and the exchange of best practices between FMIG students and faculty leaders. The network consists of campus faculty and student FMIG leaders, appointed Regional Coordinators, and one elected National Coordinator. These coordinators serve as consultants to and resources for FMIGs.
The mission of the AAFP is to improve the health of patients, families and communities by serving the needs of members with professionalism and creativity.
A variety of resources to support FMIGs across the nation--including brochures and handouts for events, PowerPoint presentations and information for presentations, and contact information for student leaders and sister organizations--is available at fmignet.aafp.org.
