Famous Dave's Sioux City, IA

Its hard for me to find good BBQ outside of Texas but this place didn't disappoint. Brisket was soft and juicy but was lacking seasonging for me at least. Now the jalapeño and cheese sausage, on the other hand was pretty damn good as well as the ribs. As far as the sides go I had potato salad and my wife had curly fries which are both good options. If I'm every in the area again I will definitely stop in for another bite.

Had the Ribeye, which had a decent cut, and was cooked to my request of rare pretty accurately. Servers were friendly, and the music was a great selection of blues music. I didn't get a beer this time, but there were several good selections, even many local to Iowa/Nebraska beers.

Excellent service. Fast, hot food! No complaints for our party of 4. Price: fair Recommend: absolutely!

Strike 1 the two rude greeters didn’t even attempt to open the door for me as I was carrying a baby & bag. Strike 2 our group of 7 was told it would be 10-15 minute wait. Perfectly reasonable BUT another group with 8-9 came in minutes after us. Strike 3 the group who came in after us was seated before us, when I asked for the manager he basically just blew it off. We finally got a table in a corner with an air vent freezing us out. I alone with 4 others in our group just had our food put in to-go boxes. Over $200 for leftovers. Unfortunately another table saw that we got skipped over & blamed it on race. Sadly our group already felt that way. Not driving an hour again for Famous Dave’s Sioux City.

The service from waitress was great, she was very friendly. The food was over cooked from the appetizers platter brisket to my sister steak she asked for medium it wasn't at all so waitress had another one made. The second staeak was raw in the middle and cold see picture of the second time cooking and still was wrong.

The roasted chicken and Pineapple steaks were amazing but the mashed potatoes tasted like they were a little old. Great service. I would have enjoyed it more if our family had not been sat in the bar area.Food: 4/5

Well Mr Dave, I see why you’re Famous. We know good bbq, and this is it. Loved every meal our family ordered. Wife had the loaded bake potatoes, I had the brisket and my son had the ribs. Even the Mac and cheese tastes good.

Consistently really good BBQ every time. Love the Texas Manhandler sandwich. Update: Still a solid choice for tasty BBQ.Food: 5/5

Jessica was great, the food was awesome, the atmosphere was fun. We visited the Fort Mill, South Carolina location 3 times in the last 2 years we lived there, and had sworn off Famous Dave’s after those 3 terrible experiences food was crazy expensive and terrible . So glad we decided to give this location a chance. The cornbread was sweet and delicious, not dry and flavorless. We’ll be back!
