Growing up my family used to go to Plant City Florida for spring break every year. The best memories of that trip for everyone other than seeing family was eating strawberries out of the field. I can remember tasting the sweetest, juiciest, ripest strawberries in my life. Over time those memories grew distant as we got older. Until one day my Mother Wynna Fulwood and my aunt Denise Fulwood decided to bring the taste of Florida to SC.
It started off with a simple idea. Bring those wonderful strawberries here to SC. To do that they found would be more challenging than they ever thought. The minimum requirement to ship strawberries from Florida was to order 112 flats. At that time that was a daunting task that no one thought would be possible. So my Mom and Aunt got to work calling everyone they could think of to see if we could reach that order. What took place was friends, family, church members all came through and they were able to make the request. Strawberries got here and all strawberries were then loaded in a car or truck by hand and had to be driven to friends and family. After a long hard day everyone got to sit down and enjoy the strawberries we worked so hard to get and man were they good! Well everyone else thought so too! Before we knew it calls were coming in about when was the next time we would do this again? At this point our family started to realize that we had something good here and little did we know how big this simple idea would become.
A few years later as we all know the country went into a recession. Lots of friends and family were out of work because of this. My Mom and aunt felt the Lord leading them to do something for them. As a result and divine intervention the people that needed help started helping us sell strawberries and from there it grew and grew and grew! Its amazing how something so simple and good as eating strawberries in a field could turn into a business that now delivers over 2000 flats of strawberries a week during peek strawberry season. God is good and he has blessed us abundantly!
