Excellent local oysters! Lots of dishes revolved around traditional seafood house items like creamy pastas, crab cakes etc, however all the seafood was perfectly cooked which sets this place apart. The Bloody Marys are also better than average.
You won't leave hungry. A knowledgeable staff member made my selection of Oysters easy, and I really did enjoy them. Dinner was Fried Flounder and hubby had the Shrimp Tacos. Just Perfect!Food: 5/5
Well. Let's get into this review. Walk up to the restaurant; not fancy, but you can tell it's been around for a while. That's an A+ for me. It was crazy crowded, so I expected some excellent seafood after a 30 min wait. The atmosphere is a date, not an issue; date to me means I definitely can expect good seafood because it is the quality of food that matters. Well. The crab seafood dip was flavorful, and the calamari was. I expected them to be spicy, as well as the dipping sauce. As a starter meal, you get a lot. My friend had blackened salmon that lacked flavored and mashed potatoes dry, but the mussels were Mussels. Nothing fancy. I wanted to like the cucumber martini. But the lime overpowered the drink, and the lemon drop was more sweet and tasted no alcohol. It's the experience that we went for; will we come back? For my visiting family members, it's a No for them; for myself, it's not a hard NO.
It was meh. Food tasted average. Son's tuna was medium well. Tasted dry, tough, tasteless. Husband and my fried seafood sandwiches were OK but nothing incredible. Cole slaw not sweet how I like. Fries seemed cold and tasteless. Sometimes you can't believe these 4 to 5 star ratings on Google.Food: 3/5
We had a great dinner here! Seafood is steamed with Old Bay as seafood should be! and good cocktail sauce/melted butter provided. Ordered steamed clams great!, steamed shrimp great flavor, little overcooked, crab legs great flavor, little overcooked, crab cake sandwich great crabcake with minimal filler, perfect bun/lettuce/fresh tomato/homemade sauce, and side salad perfect. Were given a complimentary bread plate with corn muffin sweet and moist- the best! and hush puppies perfect. Service was super friendly and attentive. There seems to be a “nice side” and “older side” of this restaurant; we were seated in the older side with carpet had an odor and it was warmer on that side. Didn’t ruin our night, but would probably request the newer side when returning. For the food we had and the quality, the price was extremely reasonable— what a pleasant surprise! Overall would highly recommend!
I have driven by Fat Tuna several times, and I finally decided to give it a try. I was greeted with a warm welcome from the hostess. My server, Joyce, provided amazing customer service. Joyce was bubbly and answered all of my questions about the menu options, and she was great through my entire dinner experience. The restaurant provides hush puppies and a muffin while you wait for your order. I had the shrimp and scallop pasta and an Amber beer. I was really impressed. It was so flavorful, and it was a huge portion. The shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly! Truly a great meal! I’ll be back!
Ordered the fried red snapper, Mac and cheese, and a house salad. Decent food overall. Great vibe inside the establishment. It gets very busy. Drinks were a tad bit weak but decent overall. Typically we come for the oysters but decided to try something new.
The food was fantastic! We had the blackberry oysters from Chesapeake, VA, the triggerfish picatta and the pan seared scallops. Kremena was wonderful and made our experience even better! We never needed anything, as she was always checking on us.Food: 5/5
Came here for vacation and it was our first place to stop by for lunch. It’s not a place for you if you are looking for a cheap lunch, however you pay for what you are getting: our server Marco was amazing, drinks were strong and food is so tasty that my family didn’t even wait for me to take pictures of the full meal.Food: 5/5
My waitress, Tina, was absolutely amazing! Very attentive without being overbearing. I had never been here before and took her suggestions on what to order. I was sad that they didn’t have sushi for lunch, but Tina recommended the Sesame Tuna, and WOW! By far the best and most flavorful Sesame Tuna I have ever had! I am already craving it again! The oysters on the half shell were fresh, clean, and delicious! Highly recommend this place to anyone!!! Second visit they made a new rule, can only order the different kinds of oysters in groups of 6, so to try all of them you have to order 2.5 dozens. If you get two half-dozen orders, you lose 2 dollars vice the price for a dozen. Manager, Rose, was extremely uninterested in helping. The food was great, but paying that much you don’t expect to sit in taped up booths, with ants crawling on the walls, and the vent inlet on the ceiling over the tables CAKED with dust. As one of the first tables to be sat, they sat us next to the bin that the short waitress kept throwing her dishes into every couple of minutes. Extremely loud crash ruined what enjoyment we were trying to get. Absolutely won’t be back. I brought my brother here during his visit from Georgia, and I was beyond embarrassed! Sweet tea was not a true southern sweet tea.
