Museum of Western Art and Native American Artifacts
Favell Museum
The museum is home to over 100,000 Native American and Indian artifacts that illustrate the lives of indigenous tribes from around the world. Collections dating from 12,000 years ago include arrowheads, knives, ancient stone tools, clothing, beadwork, basketry, pottery, and more. Ancient artifacts interface with the works of over 300 contemporary western artists, each telling their own stories of the west. Included are original paintings by Charles M. Russell and Edgar S. Paxson.
“This museum is dedicated to the Indians who roamed and loved this land before the coming of the white man and to those artists who truly portray the inherited beauty which surrounds us. Their artifacts and art are an important part of the heritage of the West.”
For 40 years, the Favell museum has protected and preserved some of the finest art and ancient artifacts of our Western heritage. Today it is a non-profit organization offering adult and youth art classes, field trips, lectures and other educational opportunities.
