The worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. Cheese dip was made with velveeta and was half chunky and half runny. Grilled cheese was made with imitation mozzarella cheese. Children’s burrito was drenched in some disgusting sauce. Beans were made with powder. Taco Bell would’ve been 100 times better than this. If we could put negative stars we would. We should’ve walked out when we noticed how empty it was.
The service was good and the atmosphere was fine, but it was the food that was just ok. The ground beef had an odd flavor; I ordered the taco salad. My husband said the same about his food. I really enjoyed their salsa, but the chips were overcooked.Food: 3/5
Everything by was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious. My first plate that came out the ground beef was raw, but they remade it. Would go back again.Food: 5/5
Between Jose walking around picking his nose while serving food, cold cheese dip, a soggy chimichanga, stale tortilla chips, and the kitchen staff sleeping in a booth….. one star is far more than they deserved. The service is a joke, and the food is what you’d expect on a Thursday night in a local jail house. 4 star rating is absolutely bs. Seems like they’re having drunk customers give a good rating for a free beer cause no way in hell are they carrying that 4 star…….. this used to be the best Mexican food in town, the last 2 times I came here it was increasingly more disappointing. That’ll never happen again.
Good food but horrible service, and I told myself I wasn't going to even bother with putting a review up but it popped up wanting to know what my visit was like. I will never be returning to Fernandos to experience blatant racism ever again. I along with my two sons and sister, decided to eat here after my sons open house just last week. After being seated, we ordered drinks, appetizer and dinner. We received our appetizer and wasn't given any plates. It was extremely hot which was a good thing but we really needed plates to be able to properly eat it. I would've let that go but the thing that troubled me the most and ultimately made me decide to NEVER patronize this restaurant again was to literally watch the waitress bring out complimentary chips and salsa to a white family and she never brought any to our table at all. Had I never been to Fernandos it could've possibly not even mattered to me but my family and I have been there before and had never been treated like that. My waitress even tried to over charge me and thankfully I caught it and told her. My sister was very troubled and I really felt angered. Thankfully I love Jesus so I just said a prayer for that waitress but NEVER again will I be dining there.
Been going to this restaurant for 7 years with several management changes. On 8/5/23 my husband and I visited the restaurant at approx 5:45pm. Adrian a new server was very kind to us. We ordered our usua beefl burrito with rice and beans for my husband and I ordered 3 flour soft tacos with grilled shrimp, tomato, avocado and grilled chicken. We also ordered small queso. For the past 4 years, including the past 2 weeks, our final bill was $21 and change. We usually leave a $7 dollar tip. Our bill came out to $43 and change! The menu always had a la carte tacos. I'd ask for shrimp which we knew cost a ittle more than the ground beef or grilled chicken or steak. My tacos were the size of street tacos...small. in the past I'd have to take one home because I couldn't finish all three. We spoke with the manager who had no name tag. He was rude and ignorant. He argued with us that because I asked for tomato and avocado on them it was more expensive and that they never had the shrimp taco meal. We have always paid $10.99 for my 3 larger shrimp tacos. Instead of $10.99 they charged us $22.45 for three tiny tacos. We told the manager we would pay but wouldn't step a foot back into the restaurant due to his ignorant rudeness. It didn't matter that we have been customers for 7 years. Whether or not we have been long time customers that manager didn't care. He said he didn't care if we came back or not. We have noticed that since he became manager, the restaurant is most definitely not busy like it used to be. Time to find another place to eat, somewhere patrons are treated right.
Your run of the mill neighborhood Mexican restaurant. Would give this place a 4.5 stars if I could! My only complaint would be that the outdoor seating smells like smoke which was unpleasant for me but I understand that having that option can be a draw for others. Chips come as you get seating and the food and service and good and quick! This place reminds me of the Mexican restaurant near my home town and so hope you get the same experience as well.
We were going to try this new restaurant out but the experience did not start off well as we had to walk through a gauntlet of cigarette smoke coming from the outdoor patio. Place had 14 empty tables but we were told that they were full and not able to serve. I understand if they're understaffed. Just say that you're understaffed. When we walked in, the floor was slick and slippery, and my daughter fell and scraped her knee. The hosts saw it happen and did not even offer to help. Needless to say we didn't eat there and don't plan on going back anytime soon.
Meat was dry. Tortillas were hard when supposed to be soft. Salsa is from a can and when asked for a different one they said they didn’t have any other sauce. The chips were stale and seemed reused. Very limited selection of beer, only one on tap. The place was dead, it should have been my first sign to run out of there.Food: 1/5
Our family has eaten here for years but not again after tonight. They can't get a to-go order correct to save their lives. Two of our 4 orders were wrong. Plus we were missing food. Then this is what they consider a steak quesadillasee pic. They charge $11 for a 6 inch tortilla with steak & cheese. Also, their carne asada tacos don't come with shredded cheese now. I've never ordered these tacos from them & not had cheese on them. TERRIBLE customer service from the manager regarding our horribly screwed up order.
