Charming and friendly restaurant. The BBQ was fine, but nothing to rave about in my opinion. The bakery attached had delicious cookies but the pastries cannolis, cream horn, eclairs, etc. were all filled with frosting and very disappointing.

We have been customers for a long time. Our pick-up orders have been incorrect at least 50% of the time but I have tolerated it because they have a lot of young people working there. Tonight I ordered whole flounder, what I have ordered for the last 10 orders. But they got the order wrong again and gave me a fish plate. I called and they said they would make a whole flounder so I returned to pick it up. When I got home and opened the plate, I guess they wanted to punish me for complaining. The fish was cooked so hard it was almost black. I could not eat it. This will be the last time I eat there and will let friends and family know how they do business here. Do not eat here.

The food was amazing! The portions were large and I had to take some of my chicken fried steak. Potato salad, fried okra, rolls and sweet tea home with me. All this for about $10!! I love it!

Food was great. Slow service from the staff. When I paid my bill I was charged for another person's purchase that was twice what I owed. Instead of reversing the wrong charge they gave me cash back. Totally the wrong thing to doFood: 5/5

Great little spot - and I do mean little... 12-15 tables. BBQ is really good, and they REALLY pile it on the sandwiches - you'll probably need a fork. Several sauces to try - the house vinegar is great eastern NC sauce. They've also got some really neat - and great value - lunchtime specials during the week... burgers, home cooking, great veggies. Shares an entrance with a great family bakery - so get some unique deserts to take home with you. Service is always friendly - though at times recently they've been short staffed.

We try a lot of BBQ joints and try not to leave negative reviews unless it's warranted. Portions are large, value is good, but service is slow 20 mins for some burgers and BBQ tray, pork is not very flavorful just smoky, fries are plain, sauces are nothing special at all. If you're really hungry, it's fine, but if you want more flavor and awesome sides, try Smoke Pit 4 miles away.
