Visit any of our locations in Manhattan for a warming cup of Swedish coffee, delicious homemade pastries, hand-crafted chocolates and more!
Fika is a Swedish verb which translates to “take a coffee break", usually accompanied by something sweet and delicious. While most Americans take their coffee to go, “fika” is an important daily ritual for Swedes who like to take a moment to indulge in conversations with friends and colleagues. It is not a surprise that Swedes are amongst the heaviest consumers of coffee in the world! This fine appreciation of a coffee-centric lifestyle was our inspiration and in 2006 we opened the first FIKA espresso bar located at Central Park South, right next door to The Plaza hotel. Three more locations have been opened since we first opened our doors and new chocolate factory in Tribeca is on its way!
FIKA also offers a wide selection of home made cookies and pastries, all examples of what you might come across if your Swedish great grandmother decided to host a pastry party, but always adding a modern, innovative touch. We incourage you to not stop there, but also discover our hand rolled and in house created chocolate truffles, pralines and bars as well as our own line of products such as condiments, jams, vinegars, granola, etc.
Think FIKA only caters to your sweet tooth? We want to have a love affair with your savory senses too, and offer a full breakfast and lunch menu at our 58th and Pearl Street locations. Our head chef comes with more than 18 years of experience and serves up Swedish classics alongside daily specials. Anything you choose from our menu will without a doubt be made in house, from nothing but the finest produce and made with a great portion of love and passion. Simply because at FIKA we believe each coffee break and every meal should be an experience out of the ordinary. Come on in...let's have a FIKA.
