I was able to schedule a tour for my sons Cub Scout group today at Fire Station 15 and it is safe to say that after a chance to sit in a real fire truck, watch a real firemen slide down the pole, getting to see where they eat, sleep, and all the gear firemen actually wear while fighting fires, these kids had an AMAZING time! I have to say that every single one of the firemen/woman, EMT's, and the Captian at this fire station were super sweet, helpful, informative, and very patient with our group of 5 and 6 year olds! It is sometimes easy to forget how much these guys and girls do for our communities and how heroic they all are every single day. I know I am guilty of taking them for granted at times but today was a strong reminder of how thankful I am for people like them and how much I view them as not only my hero but heros in my kids eyes as well! To those at Fire Station 15, thank you for all that you do everyday! Thank you for risking your lives to ensure me and my family remain safe! Thank you for being our heros everyday!
Kudos to our city fire department servicemen for their excellent service! We had an emergency nextdoor on Riverside Dr. around 4:30pm. Someone left an apartment with an electric stove on, the smoke alarm was beeping as the smoke was seeping out the unit. The fire servicemen arrived within 7-8 minutes after our phone call, fully equipped prepared to jack open the door - which they didn’t have to do luckily as we just found the resident to enter their unit. The firefighters came just in time to prevent the smoke situation from developing further and hurt two young residents children. They brought in the giant fan and evacuated the smoky air from the unit. The crew was very efficient and fast, yet calm, courteous and comforting to residents.
They are awesome people, caring and also comforting to the situation. Called then twice in 3 days , and also so very polite and caring. Friendly and giving us as mush information, and like I said comforting when we needed to hear that.Thank you and god bless you all. You also came for my dad and grandma RIP and same care. A capital asked me about my dad, when he was an emergency next door. So to remember and ask. Meant a lot.
My one month old was gasping for air in the car while I was on the 5 freeway headed home, my girlfriend was attempting to clear his airway as I was goggling fire stations near me and station 15 popped up as being 3 miles away... once we got there the firemen and medics sprung right into action, kept us calmed and reassured as they worked on my little one... after making sure he was stable they took him to St. Joseph’s as a precautionary measure. My son has a clean bill of Heath and went home hours later.... WE WANT TO SAY THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL
