I visited First Baptist of Eugene with my family while in town for my college orientation. We were hoping to find a biblical god fearing church to be my new church home while I’m away for school. The Bible was severely lacking in their “traditional service”, sermon was spastic and lacked a message. To further my point, Bibles were completely lacking within the sanctuary and the scriptures weren’t read once during the sermon. If you’re looking for your ears to be tickled, then this church is for you. If you want a church rooted in the Bible, then I would suggest never cross First Baptist’s door. “For a time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.” - 2 Timothy 4:3
It's really obnoxious to have a neighbor like this. This year, they bought a giant light up tree that plays music so loud that one can hear it from across the street. Every night in December, I get treated to their finest seasonal noise pollution. This is worse than the haying of the huge lawn in front that coats everything within 1/4 mile in grass fragments, dust and seeds.
We the Kingdom and Cory Asbury were amazing. Highly recommend you see them. They rocked!!
To say I'm in shock is an understatement. I called Ray Benson for assistance, as I was told it's once a year help. I haven't received help since December of 2021. I called him on last Friday. He got back to me this morning, and actually said on my voicemail, that he's not welfare. And for me to find other resources. Totally inappropriate comment, especially from a Pastor. Sorry I'm not rich and made of money. That wasn't Godly at all, putting the poor down. I expected better from you Ray. You could of said no and left it at that.
We have called First Baptist or “First B” home for many years. The team of pastors all preach from the Word with Christ-Led insight, deep love and commitment to those who gather to worship and be fed. There is a more traditional early service for those who find our large talented choir a blessing and a more contemporary second service with an upbeat and inspirational praise team! So blessed by those who serve and attend here! Come join us!!
There was a convention that was held there for my work they were able to hold over 830 school bus drivers during this event very impressive very well done very clean building
Good Friday service was very meaningful. Songs selected with perfect with the message
This church is not only beautiful, it’s full of love and warmth
Ray Benson is the biggest jerk I ever met. We came to this church for assistance with food and such, we called beforehand of course and he agreed to help us, told us to come to the church on a certain day so we did. He had a attitude from the start and even told my sister to go outside with her kids when it was 95 degrees. The food gift cards and gas gift card he gave us, he demanded them back for no reason at all. Got upset with my mother for texting, who was just trying to make sure my sister’s son was okay as he has sensory issues. Then told her to get out. His behavior was shocking, my mom couldn’t stop crying. The way he treats people is disgusting and inhumane. We came here for help and he treated us like absolute garbage. No one should go to this church, there’s better ones out here with people who actually treat others as humans. This church isn’t for you or anyone, except those with big egos.
It was very large church. I don't attend their. We had a seminar there, it was good
