Very hard to get access to your funds , send money etc. Not compatible with zelle, venmo, cash app, chime etc. Just makes banking very inaccessible. And nobody answers the phone. It shouldn’t be this hard to bank. Great staff , but major improvements are needed . ASAP.
I was stuck between a rock and a hard place especially after the flooding in north Chicago. I applied for a loan with James who was outstanding. I was able to apply and get approved quickly. Sonya was instrumental in getting the final details set for me. She was patient and so caring. She gave me excellent service. I highly recommend First Financial Credit Union. They make everything easy.
Impossible to get a hold of and when you finally do, this place has the most unknowledgeable customer service staff. I would not recommend putting your money in a place you cannot retrieve it from.
FFCU has been so very helpful to me whenever I come in for anything. They have great customer service here. Sonya and Irene went above and beyond to assist me with help getting financed for an auto loan. Thank you again FFCU for having such a helpful staff. Highly recommend this credit union.
***Update*** Management team reached out to us right away and cleared everything for me and my mother in-law. There was definitely a confusion and with everything cleared up, we are really happy that we came to First Financial Credit Union. I would suggest asking questions no matter how uncomfortable it can be sometimes. I am glad there was someone there that speaks Spanish that explained to my mother in-law a second time. ***Update*** I spoke to a rep via Phone letting them know that my mother-in-law wants to open a secured Credit Card, and they gave her something else. Over the phone, they told us that there are Spanish reps that will be able to help her with the language. This is unbelievable!
First timer here and Irene was excellent. Fast communicator, very outgoing and kept her words as promised. Closed on the deal ahead of time. Highly recommend!!
THIS CREDIT UNION IS NOT "slowly going down the drain" IT'S ALREADY GONE. I refinanced TWO cars and obtained a loan with them. I paid each one ON TIME and NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT. I applied for another loan after completely paying for the last one. A week went by and no call, no email. I called after a week and a half to get a status and they said they would call me. NO CALL. I emailed James who works in the Loans Department and he finally told me that my application was denied automatically by the system and that he was going to look at it. Another week went by and NO CALL, NO EMAIL. I emailed James and he almost immediately told me that there's nothing he can do. WHAT A JOKE. THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THEIR MEMBERS AND NO COMMUNICATION SKILLS.
Not at all organized place! I wanted to apply for car refi loan. Called them, they got all my info, told me to apply online, which I did. They ran my credit score north of 800 and then never called me. After leaving voicemails I finally got someone on the phone to tell me that even though everything looks great with the credit application, I can not be approved because I don't live in their area... something they could have done during the first call and save everyone a bunch of time and hitting me with a credit check
I initially wrote a bad review but actually, FFCU worked hard to make things right and almost all of the people I ended up working with were very helpful. Thanks for taking time to help me, figure things out, and make things right.
Many people would choose a credit union to have a more personalized banking experience, tailored to help you achieve financial wellness- something that would not be received at a traditional commercial bank. However, do not bank at First Financial credit union if that is what you are looking for. Sadly, we have banked with FFCU for over 8 years and I must say that we will soon change establishments. We must wait on hold endlessly to speak with anyone. Oftentimes, they dont even answer the phone. Furthermore, the representatives are rude and accusatory. Additionally, it is impossible to reach anyone between 1p Saturday afternoon to Monday 9am. Also, we must incur atm fees due to the lack of associated atms and mobile deposit isn't available. This bank lacks all modern conveniences.
